Ok all, I am getting spammers like crazy. ON ALL of my forums. I am using 3.8.1 and my styles seem to be up-to-date. My registration settings are set appropriately. Is anyone else having spamming problems?

Using a random question such as "2 - 1 =" isn't going to offer any protection from spam bots.

I've found if you use questions targeted to your niche, these do in fact help.
If your site is about spaceships, post a question asking about rockets.

My site's question makes me lol each time i read it...
"What is the fifth word in this question?"
Anyways, I added that, blocked some e-mail addresses that only spammers use (.ru and so forth) and I've been bot/spam free

ok fixed all of that, the HTML Validator shows no errors, CAPTCHA is on, but I am still getting them. Had one register last night.
