I was wondering if there is a plugin that will allow the users to upload a file to their profile. I'm a member of a diesel truck forum and saw the suggestion of everyone being able to upload their ECM flash files so others can see and try them. I was thinking it would show up in the users profile as a download link.

jpaytoncfd,

You are currently showing up as unlicensed.

You will need to use your customer number and password (which will be in the email you got when you paid for your license) to access that page. Please note that your email is case sensitive.

To protect our customers privacy you will also need to Opt-In to license validation for all Support Sites. You must authorise vBulletin.org in order to validate your license status here. You can do this at the page linked above for your distributor. Make sure to set the permission to allow vBulletin.org to validate your status.

The update of your account can take up to one hour.

Thank you.

as you are asking this in the pre-sales, i suppose it's because you want to know if it is possible so it would help you choose if you buy it or not...

yes it is possible, but with a little modification of an existing hack. the existing hack can actually let members upload a flash file, it will show in their profile... if you want an ECM file, not a .flv, it would be to modify that engine to make it read your file. (you may have to hire a coder for that though, it's possible but not simple)

No nexialys this is NOT a pre-sales question, otherwise i would not have posted the unlicensed reply, don't you think so?

He is not asking if something is possible with vBulletin if he would purchase it. He is asking for a plugin to be used on the existing forum he is on:

JEEZ It was a simple question. This is suppose to be a community. People helping people. But thanks for making up my mind, I was interested in your software to design a equine forum. I'll be sticking with an open source software, People there have common decency and manners.

Good Day

sorry naxialys, I actually missed the second part of your post. The Forum would just have to store the ECM Flash file and present it as a download link.

if it's just to add a link to download it, it's way easier, the hard part is to have the display engine...

you have multiples choices then... having a small addon to the album to upload the ECM file, or replace the personal photo for the ECM, or simply a upload script to store it and add a link... all these are simple hacks, takes 5 to 10 minutes to code.
