All users for my forum are required to register with a First and Last name. I had the spam problem under control until recently when a bunch of new spammers seem to have taken to the vBulletin registration scene. Almost all the spam registrations are signing up with one-word names like johnsmithpharmaceuticalsalesman etc.
Since my forum requires the format "John Smith" (space between a first and last name) in order for me to approve a new user, its generally pretty easy to figure out the spam from the real users.
However, I was wondering if there was a way (perhaps via the Username Regular Expressions option?) to force all registering users to use the First<space>Lastname format, so that people registering without a space between first and last name are automatically given an invalid username error.
Anyone have any ideas how to do this?
