Installing medals mod - frustrated as heck!

Hi,

Im trying to install the medals hack listed below..

I tried posting on the mod thread provided, but have recieved no reply. I followed everything on the readme and when I go to install from my forum's admin, nothing happens. Help, please!

I get here...I click on begin installation process and nothing happens.

Are you running vbulletin 3.0? That modification is for vb 3.0 and is most likely not compatible with any version from vb 3.50 up.

Also, the mod says Unsupported and the Developer hasn't been online since August 2007.

I guess that explains my problem. Are there any medals mods that you recommend that are easy to install?

I don't use a metals mod on my site, so I have no idea which are out there or what the differences are between then.

Alright..Ive downloaded and unzipped the file..there is no readme.

Where do I upload the respective files? Im kinda new to the vbulliten board thing.

I'd strongly suggest reading at least this part of the manual - The Product Manager (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/product_manager)

If you have further questions regarding the modification, the place to ask is in the modification thread.

I wouldn't suggest using that mod as it adds a query for every post shown on the showthread page.

If you want I can give you the altered version I have on my site that only adds a single query to the showthread page.

At one point it had the correct plugin to only execute a single query on the showthread page but it was also grabbing the data in another postbit plugin for every post on showthread. When I pointed it out to the authors, instead of fixing the postbit plugin to not execute on the showthread page they left it as it was and removed the plugin that was grabbing all the data with a single query.

RL, that would be great...

Though more I look at it, I don't want to mess things up on my forum. Right now, there really isn't anyone on our site who knows how to add hacks and stuff to vbulliten.

Is there anyone here who knows that they are doing that could go in an do it for me?
