View Full Version : A member keeps getting this error

She is accessing the forum from work, I really think it might be her ISP. BUT I'm know 100% sure so I told her I'd look into it. I'm not sure what I am looking for though.
Network Error (dns_server_failure)
Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting
the DNS server.
The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a
network problem.
For assistance, contact your network support team.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

My first recommendation would be to run your domain through two sites such as these:
http://thednsreport.com/
http://host-tracker.com/
See what kind of errors you get there, if any. If you don't get any errors there, odds are, this has nothing to do with your domain or server.

Let her ping your domainname, and check if it returns the correct server IP. If not it is a DNS-problem, possibly at her ISP if she is the only one with problems.

On the first link I got this
fail NS records at parent servers tld nameserver know nothing about your domain, seems domain does not exist
Everything checked out ok on the other one... but whats that first one mean?

Open the command prompt on her PC (on windows: Start -> Run -> cmd.exe) and:
ping www.yourdomain.com (http://www.yourdomain.com)
