Hello,
I was wondering how some members were able to get version 4.0 of vbulletin?

They weren't, if you mean the profile field, I think you can put anything in that field.
Edit: For example, I just edited my profile here to say using 99.8.X as the vBulletin version, it's completely meaningless truth wise.

The beta is supposed to be released in April or May...the final/gold release will likely be a long time after that. There's been no official word when, but I wouldn't expect it until the end of the year at the earliest.

Yes, it has a lot of new SEO and URL rewrite features built into it

It's probably a edited version of the software and version number. Not that hard to do ;)

I need to upgrade my 3.6.4 version to the latest one, and so I had to renew my license. What's better? Upgrade now (truly i mean a new installation not a simple upgrade) or waiting for the version 4?

I would upgrade now, there is no date given yet for the final vB4 version.
