Please respond to last post I made about the sub-domain, thx

I am very new with vBulletin and actually had to hire someone to install it for me on my site. I am trying to replicate a site such as this www.facilityb5d.com who is also using vbulletin. They however have a main front page that looks like it is a vbulletin add-on or something as well instead of going right into their forums. How do I do this and make this homepage?

Also, I just had the guy DL vbulletin, the latest one, do I still need to install that security patch they are talking about on the front page?

And one more thing, is there a database of all the mods and add-ons that a user can make to the vb forums or main site? Like if you want a chatbox, etc.?

Thanks

1.
They are using Vbadvanced...
http://www.vbadvanced.com/

2. Did you download before or after the patch was released

3. This site is the official database of mods for VB...Hit the link up top called 'Mods'

1) Actually I just found this: http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersarea.php?do=viewusermanual&productid=4&pageid=7 which tells me abotu making it my homepage but we set the vBulletin forum to a sub-domain. Sow ould this change the setup? we are using forums.blackwaterops.net for our forums (which as I stated is a sub domain)

2) I just DLd the software 30 minutes ago so I am going with after ;)

3) thx

tips to help? Learn vbulletin yourself, it may seem complicated and overwhelming to a new user(i think i almost cried...) but it will help you so much later on if/when you have a problem, you will be able to better fix it yourself, instead of having to rely on or pay someone else to do it.

This is especially true if you end up hiring a lazy coder who could fix one problem and cause 10 others.
