Referral Contest

Can anyone suggest a way to run a referral contest? With phpBB I had a hack installed that would setup a page showing how many referrals each person had gotten so it was easy to keep track but unfortunately I have been unable to find a solution like this for vB.

Only thing I really found for referrals was a hack to add a referral link to the userCP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
