Upgrading to 3.8 with a custom skin

I had a custom skin done for vBulletin and I am currently on version 3.6.8 PL2.

I would like to upgrade to 3.8, but I am concerned that the upgrade would somehow corrupt or erase the custom skin.

This may be a stupid question, but it is still something I need to know.

I had more to do with the look of the site rather than the technical side so in regards to the backend of vBulletin I know relatively little.

If someone could help me out I would be grateful.

An upgrade will not 'delete' your custom skin. However, you will have to upgrade your skin. I went through that same upgrade and I think I had about 40 templates I had to go through and manually upgrade.
