its just taking to long...

my forum is just soo slow, and realy slow working its way up google.
i have VB SEO, and i also have tags in most threads, witch i spend hours doing, and getting right..
yet i find reptile forums, above mine higher, with less key words, and less info in/ on them..

any ideas why?..

How long have you had your site? You can't expect to put a site up and one month later have it be the top site in a search on google.

Have you built any links to your site?
You can optimize the forums all day long, but without a few links, it's pointless ;)

my site has been runninga year now, and the forum about 8 months.
There are many links back to the site, but we just dont seen to be anywhere..

our keywords, and info on our site is tagged with keywords, the VB description of site is full with key words, typical for what we are doing, it just seems to be slow..
what other types of links could help?
