The people on my forum say that this style makes them run slow. Now, I can imagine that this is caused by the background image (384.58 KB (393808 bytes)), which is pretty big. But the image pretty much holds the style together. So what can I do to make it run faster? I know about lowering the filesize, and I imagine I could lower that a decent bit without too much impact on quality. Are there any other good methods to make that image load faster/keep it loaded?

the problem could be the static background behind the forum..

1365px × 1024px (scaled to 806px × 605px)

That's a pretty good size image ... have you tried testing with and without?

Oh, I know that it's the image. I just want to know what I can do to get around the load times related.

Oh yeah, and I reduced the file size to about 50kb.

install the debugger and search for un cached templates on that style

How can I tell if my templates are cached? Debug mode is on.
