Hello, I recently upgraded from 3.6.8 to 3.8.1. Once I did that, none of the dropdown menus function any longer. This includes the search, usercp, and the quicklinks. Can someone assist me please. Thanks!

Create a new style with no parent:
Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style :
Parent Style: No Parent Style
Title: Default vBulletin
Allow User Selection: Yes
Save
Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

Yes I do still have the same issue. I do not know what else to do.

OK, stay using that default style that you just created and then try disabling your plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

(Your site should look just like vb.com at this point.)

I tried that as well. It did not work.

To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options.

Yes, I have done every one of those things and the problem still persists.

Do you have a link to the forum and is the default style enabled for us to try it? Also, we'll need a test user account to be able to login with.

the test user account is

codetester
pass: test123

the default one I will make available right now.

That worked. Do you have vboptions > style & language settings ? use 'vbMenu" DHTML Menus set to Yes?

Celebutopia

Yes I do. I tried to set it to no, refresh and then set it back to yes again and nothing. Do you need admin access? If so please let me know and I will pm you a password.

Do you have a test forum set up? Can you turn off your vbseo on it and see if you still have the problem? Or have you tried disabling your vbseo (that includes the htaccess file) to see if you still have this problem?

(Also, I was looking at stuff and then went to go change pages and the style went back to the default and the dropdown is gone. Did you do that?)

I have disabled zoints seo and still had the same problem. I even removed the .htaccess file. That was actually the first thing that I did and I still had the same issue. I did revert back to the old theme yes. I am sorry, I was looking at something. No I do not have a test forum set up anymore.

I just don't see anything obvious in the source code for why it wouldn't work. You said it stopped working when you did the upgrade, you may want to double-check that you replaced all the old javascript files with the new javascript files.

In fact, I was just checking them, and I got a page not found for this page - http://www.celebutopia.net/forum/clientscript/yui/yahoo-dom-event/yahoo-dom-event.js?v=381 This one also can't be found - http://www.celebutopia.net/forum/clientscript/yui/connection/connection-min.js?v=381

Double-check that they are there and that the directory permissions are such that they can be read.

ok this is so weird. Those are the only files that will not upload. No matter how I do it, whether I ssh or ftp those will not upload.

--------------- Added 1235693510 at 1235693510 ---------------

ok sorry, I fixed that. Those are uploaded but I still have the same issue.

This is weird. Nothing works. Not even the smilies work.

This is the link of the one that says community. For some reason it is saying there is no javascript. I think.

I see dropdowns now. And they work, too. At least on the default skin they work.

edit: They also work on your skin except you don't have any arrows showing in the navbar to indicate they are drop-downs.
