Public groups

Is it possible to create a public group that is only available to specific groups? I was thinking that maybe it would that have to be done via promotions but not quite sure.

any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Possible? Of course. Just depends if you can code a modification or not (I have not seen one readily available). Public groups are meant to be just that - available to everyone.
