We've got a lot of usergroups at our forum, and sometimes we mes up on our forum permissions. XD It's great that vBulletin has provided us a way to reset or deny permissions to all usergroups at once, but I'm so lazy I wish to be able to do it individually without having to load an extra page, select "Use Default Permissions" or press "All No", and then save it.

So, I've made this tiny modification to the admincp/forumpermissions.php script thaa I thought I'd share, in case some of you find it useful as well.

First, locate the following line:
echo "$indent\t<li$liStyle>" . construct_link_code($vbphrase['edit'], "forumpermission.php?" . $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "do=edit&amp;$fplink") . $usergroup['title'] . "</li>\n";
Go ahead an comment this out, and replace it with this instead:
echo "$indent\t<li$liStyle>"
. construct_link_code($vbphrase['edit'], "forumpermission.php?" . $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "do=edit&amp;$fplink")
. construct_link_code('Deny', "forumpermission.php?" . $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "do=denyug&amp;f=$forumid&amp;u=$usergroupid")
. construct_link_code('Reset', "forumpermission.php?" . $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "do=resetug&amp;f=$forumid&amp;u=$usergroupid")
. $usergroup['title']
. "</li>\n";

This adds two links, [Deny] and [Reset], to each usergroup line.

Now, we have to make it so those links actually DO something.

Find the following (should be near the top of your script)if (empty($_REQUEST['do']))
{
$_REQUEST['do'] = 'modify';
}After this bit, add the following 'do' branches:// ###################### Start Reset single usergroup #######################
if ($_REQUEST['do'] == 'resetug')
{
$forumid =& $vbulletin->GPC['f'];
$usergroupid =& $vbulletin->GPC['u'];
$db->query_write("DELETE FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forumpermission WHERE forumid = " . $vbulletin->GPC['f'] . " AND usergroupid=" . $vbulletin->GPC['u']);
define('CP_REDIRECT', 'forumpermission.php?do=modify&f=' . $vbulletin->GPC['f']);
print_stop_message('saved_forum_permissions_succes sfully');
}

// ###################### Start Deny single usergroup #######################
if ($_REQUEST['do'] == 'denyug')
{
$forumid =& $vbulletin->GPC['f'];
$usergroupid =& $vbulletin->GPC['u'];
$db->query_write("REPLACE INTO " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forumpermission (forumid,usergroupid,forumpermissions) VALUES (" . $vbulletin->GPC['f'] . "," . $vbulletin->GPC['u'] . ",0)");
define('CP_REDIRECT', 'forumpermission.php?do=modify&f=' . $vbulletin->GPC['f']);
print_stop_message('saved_forum_permissions_succes sfully');
}

Save, and you're done! :)

I did this for vB 3.8.1, but it most probably will work in earlier versions.

As that is a nice feature if you do have lots of groups, it would be better if you designed that to function as a product/plugin and release it in the mod section here at vb.org.

I wish I could, but as far as I can tell, there are no hooks where there would need to be in order for me to make it a plugin. :(
