About this hack:
Advanced Ads for famous Google adsense program (for the program, click here (https://www.google.com/adsense)) are now very high-class show in all pages of your forum, many options to offer more than a way of advertising in all pages. this product contains group of main features:


Google adsense Manager: system to add, edit and display adsense in your vbulletin forum
adsense revenue share: share with admins, friends or users
rotate ads: rotate adsense with other ads



why this is better than "Google AdSense Integration" feature:
Google AdSense Integration (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/adsense_integration) have only specific packages. And these packages have no options.

Install/upgrade the product:
- upload file cpnav_ain_adsens.xml inside includes\xml (replace it if you are upgrading from 6.0)
- Import product-ain_adsens.xml file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product] (Allow overwrite if you are upgardeing)


How to use it:

after installation/upgrade go to your forum admin control panel (main page) and check out if your publisherid is empty or not. if it is, ads will not work until you update it. please visit ads setup options page to update it.
in ads setup options, click on the link in the second option. you will be redirected to ads units system to ad your ads. from there you can delete, update or preview your adsense codes. if you planning to use adsense share it's better to add custom adsense unit.
any ads already in your list, you can use it in any template. if your ad unit id is 5 and you want to display it in header template. you can go to header then add this code: $ain_adsense[5] this in case you want to do it by yourself.
in case you want to display your ads by the avilable option, go to Display options then click on the link you want to edit options in it. for example, you want to mange your adsense ads in forum home page. after you enterd the page, you have to choose locations where you want to show your ads. then on each location you choosed there are place to put ad id you preferd to that location. finally save and enjoy :)
if you want to exclude users, usergroups, forums or ips you can do it from main options. you will need to take a look on options there.
adsense share is completely optional, if you want to enable sharing take a look on Adsense Share options and if you still have questions I will be here to help if possible.

There's no option to show only to certain groups, such as guests, only the option section to exclude certain groups from being presented the AdSense content.

I have tried this every way I know, and ripped through the code too, to no avail as of yet.

Need help from the developer, however, I appreciate your suggestion.

In the interim, I had to go back to my previous "hack", but if this one can be gotten to function, it will replace the other, immediately.

One question: There are ad units and link units. How many of each are you allowed to have on each page and combined? I can recall you can have 3 ad units on a single page but does that mean you can't have a single link unit on that same page?
Is there also someone who can tell me if there is a different in revenue if you choose only to display text ads only for ad units? Text ads only would blend in my site a lot more but if it lowers the Page eCPM, I'll have to choose to display the image ads as well.

I'm hoping for a quick answer so I can continue playing with it. Many thanks for your help and congrats with creating such a lovely mod!

not sure if i understand what you're trying to say .. are you suggest to add new options to add link units in different pages? or you want know if possible to add more adds on one page. there are no problems with ads itself, but there are 3 problems if you put many of them in one page:

1. cause excessive loading on the page >> lead to upset users and guests
2. as I tested.. google ads don't shows more than 5 ads in one page even if ads from different accounts.
3. most of users and guests hates ads .. if you put 5 ads every page they will leave your site :)

I elected ads locations depending on an article here in vb.org .. also I am try to find best places to put them.. if you have some where in your forum you think it's better to add ads on it tell me please :)

I have 2 features in my mind for next update:

1. adsense share
2. adsense search

What I am talking about is that I am using the ads on multiple locations on my forums. I would like to show text and images ads on all locations except for the ads beneath the first post. On that location, I would like to use text ads only. However, in the options, there is only one code I can place for long ads code. So I guess I have to use text and image ads only or only text ads.

For example, all the ads in your screenshots are text ads only. But if you look at my site (http://www.fmformation.net/index.php), you will see that I use both text and image ads. Is there less revenue if you only use text ads?

Also, could you please answer my question about the auto-reload time. What exactly is it for?

yes it possible, but not with options (may with next releases) try do this:
Go to you style templates and search for: ain_adsense_postbit

find:
$vboptions[ain_adsense_code]

replace it with your google code that only show text ads.
it should be work!

about profitable ads, depending on statistics, google optimization team and vbulletin team they found that Text ads are less invasive to your users but not as effective. it's not about which one is more profitable.. it's about which one is more clickable.

there is no term prevent from reload ads. auto-reload is like when you refresh your page, but this mode refresh only your code without the whole page every x second. if google adsense team overseeing every reload to check if it's a user reload or auto-reload there server will be like bombed hell. :D

I think that option is not very useful you better to disable it .. if you want.

What I am trying to accomplish is to have two 336x280 block ads show side-by-side, one with text and one image based.

I have tried playing around with the AdSense code snippets, to no avail as of yet. I am sure it can be done and will keep trying...

I am attempting to use this in the "Leaderboard" section (but the question could apply to any, depending on varying admin's needs).

the ads in threads \ forums aren't centered and they are in the left side of the page, what can I do in order to put them in the center?

may this happen becuase MGC show using navbar template.

by rotate ads do you mean that we can show random ads? let say an adsense ad and a flash banner that will appear randomly each time we refresh the page? can we use the rotate option just in one location? (lets say just under the navbar)

Just updated to the latest version with a few problems. Any ideas as I am going to downgrade now. Also, when I first overwrote the product with the new product the ads locations seemed all messed up and looked aful compared to the older version. Hope this can be fixed soon.

rotate is random change ads per refresh, you can use it with other ads like adsnese program - I mean it's better - but you can also use it for any other banners.

Ever since I installed this add-on, my eCPM has dropped to USD 0,00 or USD 0,01. In the past seven days, I had over a million ads views but a revenue of USD 10,54. first, there are no code boxes with new version.. the code ads boxes with olders version like 5.2. And even if you are using these IF conditions with code boxes it's will not work because these IF conditions just work with vbulletin templates.

you can add more ads to side by edit ain_adsense_sideH template. find $ain_skyscraper add after it your extra ads with IFs. also I will try to add options for side ads in next version.. :)

I have the same problem too, my earnings are more then 50$ lower then what it was before I installed this addon, it's good to know that I'm not the only one.

eCPM is calculated by dividing total earnings by total number of impressions in thousands. so it is my problem if your guests does not click on ads?! or may this add-on effect the eCPM?

Aren't there any instructions for the settings? Can't get it to work. Do I have to set the forums the ads will show on or does this hack already have these settings set by default?

Well the old version seems to provide all I need. I was looking for the templates and must have missed them.

The main reason I wanted to use IFs was so that on the index where you can scroll more I could add more ads and exclude them on showthread and forumdisplay where obviously a few skyscrapers will push the editor right to the bottom.

are you tried to edit any of plugins in the product? because this query run only if you enable adsense revenue share and it's calculate author threads.

try to delete mod and reinstall it. if you want enable revenue share be sure to fill all fields in revenue share options. I checked these options in many times. you should not get any error for this as guest or user.

I'm having the same problem, but the thing is that I'm not using adsense code... I'm using other advertisment programs... this mod is only for adsense? because I was using v4.0 of this mod and I had all kind of advertisment, not just adsense.....

THANK GOD the 5.2 version is still on for download. Version 6.0 has major problems, as noted in many prior posts here. Don't know what went wrong, as this mod was building to be something very good.

I would highly recommend to the author to go back to the drawing board and pull 6.0 from the the download option, as it has some major issues that simply do not work. 5.2 was literally flawless on my board. 6.0 induced duplicates and the text displays as noted in other prior posts.

I completely uninstalled, got rid of every reference, and it was gone. Installed 6.0 clean and it still picked up things wrong. I'll give it another go this afternoon, but there is something awry in the way this is rendering displays.

Did the whole clean and reinstall again, and indeed, the problems still exist. In going through the code, there is too much hardcoding of syntax and size requirements for many snippets in the code views via PlugIn Manager (AdminCP).

for example, in the 5.2 version of "adsense [algdeer.net] postbit", it is clean, but in the 6.0 version there are size and type references everywhere. It is almost as if you have made this AdSense and size centric by the coding of it now. not good for me, since I do not use AdSense code with this mod, nor do I have to in 5.2 or prior. When running 6.0 and no Adsense code in the settings, I still get ads (if I put in my pub ID). If not, I get garbage text where I expect Chitika or another ad to appear.

To compare the 2, specifically where I am referring:

6.0 [leaderboard has too many constricting parameters which is what is causing these symptoms] - this is just one example of it and it is pervasive in the other code components comprising the plugin as well:

I have a suggestion for a feature in a future release.

To fully explain this, I have to explain my situation first.
My forum has 2 styles that a user can choose from; The default one, and a lighter one.

Now, no matter what I do, google ads are going to stick out on one of the styles.
(If I use a dark template for the google ads, they will stick out on the lighter template, and vice versa).

I suggest that you add an option to enter a set of banners/ads codes for each template.

That way, the user will be able to have a set of ads that blends into every template, instead of blending into one perfectly, and sticking out like a sore thumb on another.

A very simple way of doing this would be to have an option in the Admin CP to set the number of styles on the forum. Then, based on the number entered, display that number of "adsnese codes" boxes (Typo in v5.2 :D - it should be spelt "Adsense")
(These are the boxes that contain the adsense codes that appear on the forum)

Then, underneath each set of boxes, display another field that a user can type the styleid of each style they want.

For example;

A user sets the option to have 3 styles.

3 different sets of adsense code boxes are displayed, with an option underneath that a user types the StyleID of the skin/style that set of google adsense ads are placed on.

You could check which styleID is being used the same way that you check the current user's usergroup ID to decide if ads are shown or not.

the rev sharing.. can this be used to share between ONLY the admins? like really all we want it for at this point is to split the revenue between the 2 of us for now.. perhaps later on down the road we will use it to share with the users.

I've been poking around in the settings and trying to figure out if this is possible but if it is i don't understand how to get that working.

that because I use one id for many attributes to reloading ads. you can fixed it by editing 'ain_adsense_sideH' template find and delete:

after this you will be unable to use reloading option.

if you want to enable adsense revenue share, you should build user field and write the field name in options of adsense revenue share. you can build field as following:
- AdminCP -> User Profile Fields -> Add New User Profile Field
- choose Profile Field Type: single-line text box then continue
- add information like what in this file then save the field.
- copy the name of field and bring it to main options in AGA.

First of all, great add-on. :)

Bugs I noticed in 6.0:
1) Main options > main options > choose alignment for ads: at this option left and right are switched.
2) Display Options > display ads in different pages > display ads in archive: yes and no give the same result. Ads are always displayed in the archive.
3) On the page album.php?albumid=* the top ad is displayed after the <br /> and thus isn't displayed correctly (two line breaks before the ad and none after). On the pages album.php and album.php?albumid=*&pictureid=* the ad is showing fine.
4) The option "display after x post" is behaving odd. For instance when using "2" there, on each page of the thread it would show an ad after the first post -and- then 2 posts later, so in-between the 3th and 4th, it would show another, and 2 posts later, etc. So it behaves as if it does "display after first post all page" + the additional x posts later. In addition to this, if this is fixed, could it maybe be possible to have an option "display after x post" and "display after x post all pages"? For instance if you'd like to show the ad after each 2nd post (but not repeat it after every 2 posts like it does now).
5) When viewing pictures in Social Groups, no ads are shown even though ads are turned on for both Social Groups and Albums.
6) If a forum has "Allow Post Icons" set to "No" then the colspan will be wrong and the ad links will be displayed in the wrong area.
7) The link ads show when searching for "Find all posts by user", which uses a different style so they probably shouldn't show then.

Feedback:
1) Could it be possible to add an option to turn off the use of google_ad_slot for archive ads? That way the archive ads would have the default color and would look better with the default colors than with the color scheme I use on the normal (non-archive) version (since that's dark/black instead of white/light).
2) In addition to the feedback above, maybe allow us to put the banner that's showing below the archive at the left side? So 2 side banners and one on top? I've stumbled upon this mod and it gives some more freedom with the archive ads: EZ Archive Ad System (http://www.cpurigs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2715). Here an example of a site using it: website (http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/archive/).
3) 2 options are missing at the moment. It's impossible to turn off the sidebar in the search results (afaik) and it's also impossible to set the type of banner. I'd like a banner instead of leaderboard and no skyscraper at the side but I can't get this done at the moment:
Display options > display ads in different pages
4) The custom adsense search is showing fine on the forum. Could it be possible to add compatibility with vbadvanced so it will show on the portal page as well?
5) Maybe add the possibility to show ads on forum category pages (i.e. when clicked on category instead of subforum)?

Installed ver 6 with no problems exept one problem:

In explorer 8 it works without broblems but some users with explorer 6 and 7 complain about ads being aligned sometimes on the left side and sometimes on the center randomly,
(choose alignment for ads - center)

Excellent mod! Keep up the good work. I have a few suggestions for future development.

1. Allow for finer usergroup permissions, preferably unique display rights per ad. I like to show the top ad (under navbar) to guests only.

2. Ability to add multiple custom code(s) per ad location, since Google only allows 3 ads per page we are limited to use only a fraction of the available locations. If we can rotate between custom code and Adsense we can deliver our content focused ads we sell through normal advertisement offerings, and not go over the three ad limit. Example, I rotate between ads delivered by OpenX and Adsense in posts.

3. Ability to define the display post ad after every x post. For instance, we could enter 1,15,30,45,60. Then it would display an ad after that post #.

I was using you 4,0 mod on my forum using vb 3.7.4 with patch level 1 and it was working fantastic. Then I upgraded the forum to 3.8.2. Once I upgraded the forum, I tried to upgrade your Mod to the 6.0 version and over right it. Now I am having a couple of problems trying to get everything to work right again, and can use your help.

Can you please tell me how to fix the way these ads are showing?

That 6.0 version isn't working on VB 3.82, and I'd rather not go thru the hassle of uninstalling the product and setting it all back up.

Database Error Occurs, if Threads are merged without leaving redirect. If you try to access old urls which has been merged with new thread, you will see error.

The error will appear only if revenue sharing is enabled.

I installed version 6 yesterday with vb 3.82. Seems to work fine. No errors, no bugs so far. It was a fresh installation, no upgrade.

I am new to adsense and all the other affiliate programs. As far as I can see, Google adsense is not the best choice to maxmize income. Since there are so many different affiliate-programs out there, I wanted to test several ones. My questions are now:

The boxes of this Mod within the ACP for the google adsense code, do they work also with other affiliates? Do they also have only numbers to type in? If not, how to use it in this Mod?

Which affiliate programs would you recommend?

Which of these recommended are compatible with this Mod here? I would like to try them all out.

Differentiate usergroups not only between seeing all ads or none.

It would be better to split the appearance of ads more sophisticated for each group:

1. guests (or non-logged in): Seeing all ads and within the threads every 2nd posting an ad

2. logged in users: Seeing only in ACP specified ads outside of the threads and additional within the threads only every 5th posting an ad

3. Premium members: Seeing none or only one ad in the header

1. you can do it by yourself with v7.0 if you want a table or a div or a specific condition for your ad, you can do it. for example ads for guests only: we will put in navbar:

<if condition="!$show['member']">$ain_adsense[xx]</if>
where xx is the id of your ad

2. you can add million custom code with 7.0 but it's will need your effort to change the id every time you need to change it.

3. I think this is somehow hard to do it right now, because this will need option for each thread (may you want to put ad under the 10th post in thread 124 but you don't in thread 154) :)

hi, this mod is for google adsense only but if you want to rotate adsnese with other? yes you can up to 2 or 3 .. search for similar adsense program you will find too much there but as my experince Adbrite is the best alternative.

don't use more than 1 ad in a page. this mod is help you to show ads in your forum but it's can't help you to make more profit or tell people to click.. this against google law.. update to v7.0 :)

yes there are no control for rotate ads even in v7.0 I will try to make it esay in next version

Doesnt appear to be working. Upgraded from 6 to 7 and when I try to add a new ad unit, so my colors match again, clicking "save" doesn't add it to the list nor assign it an ID. Now I am displaying default google ads and cannot seem to change the colors...

al3bed.. I think if you allow this field to be controlled under your product this would be great. For example I would suggest to have the link text be customizable and when the member clicks on that link it redirects then to maybe your page that shows how to become a premium members. This would encourage members to upgrade to premium membership if they can remove the adds. Make sense

I think it's possible to do it, a page controlled by showing a template for specific reason make sense sure.

I just try it and all units tested are work perfectly.

the adsense ads manager in this mod cannot add channels to your account. right, you have a textbox to add channel info but it just for you to know which unit belong to which channel.if you are using ad/link unit, you need to add the channel from your account where you create that unit. if you are using custom units you need to check spelling. you can try add custom unit by this website: oldadsensecode.com you will get the same result. if you have problem with channels please read more:

this may happened if your browser show problems with javascript. (you change something in template? disable javascript in your browser? face problems with installation/upgrade?)

Can it be my template giving the problem? I have checked using other templates - same thing.
I redownloaded the thing again and reinstalled with overwriting - same thing
I exported the file, my xml file is 274kb (new downloaded file is 319kb) - does this mean something?

try reinstall without overwriting
(completely delete the product and do a fresh install)

I scanned through for 10 mins, doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it..

you can rotate ads by clicked yes then put any code html/javascript in 2 boxes (texarea) below that option .. the rotate options needed to be more customized I will work for this next week. the problem is that when you click yes randomly will change all ads by 33.3% my code it's look like:

yes, you need to skip each double quotation " by slash \ like this:

al3bed how do i remove the gap of my sites signature? I turned ON the mod for having adsense in the first post but theres a gap between the sig picture. Here's a picture so you can get and idea of what im talking about it even does it when pictures are added to the post.

hi, it's better to upgrade to v7.0 .. v6.0 somehow bugy

1. no, even with new version you need to setup each ad unit manually if you want to control each location separatly.

2. it's depend on your choice for adsense inside first post. check the display option for ads in first post and change it to 'below the title'. .. you can find arabic version of this hack in traidnt.net/vb

Im not sure if this is a bug or if its me.

First I reported that the links in the side column don't actually link to the options in the VB-options panel. Not a big deal I can always just go to the vb-options to edit.

This is the bug or problem I'm having.

With this hack enabled I cannot edit most of the standard VB features in the vb-options panel. Things like changing the human verification will not reset if I remove or add options.

If I disable and turn off the hack I can edit the options. Back on I cant edit options so its this modification in the admin cp that's causing it to hang and return a blank panel.

Not a white page but If I click save the frame forwards to a blank options panel with only the sidebar. I have to go back to the VB-Options tab to get the frame back.

Hope this is clear I really want to use the mod but If I have to disable it every time I edit VB-options its going to get old quick. :(

this mod tested for vb versions, securetiy, cusomization and ease of use
and pass in all of these. it's never will let any even admins to hack the site

I just checked that and it's works fine. maybe you have problems with some files in includes/xml that related to another addons that you already delete them. the product itself can't do such errors.

That might be the case, but there are no xml files in my folders from any previously deleted files, and without question, enabling your product breaks the profiles, and calendar events. it makes it so you cannot edit any events. you get a 'link does not exist' error.

I don't have to remove or uninstall your hack, just disable it and it fixes the problems.

I'd much rather find the problem than use another product because I spent a lot of time configuring this to match and work with my forums. But these problems, along with the ads not rotating the way they are suppose to, i don't know if i've got much choice.

I've also disabled every single product in my forum except this, and it still does it,

1. are you tried to update counters? go to you admincp then Maintenance --> Update Counters --> Fix broken user profiles
2. what version of vb you are running?
3. what's your php and mysql versions?
4. list of mods/addons/products you are using? are you using vbseo?
5. when you download the product from vbulletin.org, what was the file size of product-ain_adsens.xml?
6. are you enabling javascript in your browser?
7. are you upgraded or installed v7.0? if you upgrade it, then from which verison? 5.2 or 6.0?
8. you find any problem with installing/upgrading the product for the first time?
9. is this problem shown in hole forums or just in some custom styles?

maybe I can't help you because I don't know what you are facing exactly, I'm trying to find the problem, but I don't know where is it? I test this mod in many many fourms with different versions, but there are no problem like what you have here. :)

Just a question, i have this installed, and appears to be working, but i'm keen on the sharing bit. so got a couple of people to sign up for google adsense so that they could test it, and they are still waiting for an email to confirm it. Any way to open the adsense pages in a new window?

Nice looking mod. Never used one before on vbulletin so have a couple of concerns.

1. Since this has DB changes, does that mean I need another mysql db or does it update the vbulletin one?

2. If it updates the vbulletin one, what happens if you want to upgrade to vbulletin 4.0? Can you remove the mod?

This mod worked well when I first installed it and was delivering ads where I had assigned them, but when I later logged into admin panel I got a fatal error notice and had to go into the config.php file and add " define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); ".

When I was able to log into admin I uninstalled the mod, removed the config code I added, and site was back running as it always had.

I'm sorry to say I had to uninstall this mod as it was interfering with another mod or mods on my board - none that were advertising.

WOrks with vb4 suite BUT:
you have to install it, then disable in Plugins and mods tab in control panel.
Menu of tis plugin stay on the left and you can setup all and use it.

If you dont Disable plugin after instalation you will get errors.

If I add any ad code to rotate ads I get the following error message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/home/satellit/public_html/global.php(607) : eval()'d code(434) : eval()'d code on line 1

If I remove it, then the problem goes away. Any ideas?

you can use the number in the if statement... I mean the post count number

Just a question, i have this installed, and appears to be working, but i'm keen on the sharing bit. so got a couple of people to sign up for google adsense so that they could test it, and they are still waiting for an email to confirm it. They had to put in a web address they wanted to advertise on. So is this going to cause a problem with google and my site? are they not goign to be happy about that?

as last time I read the google adsense policy, it's not against their rules.
and as I know, people can share adsnse in one site without infracting the policy.

yes of course :D the new copy of this mod is under construction

it was the best hack if enabled to specify which adds to show on different language translated pages

unfortunately no more options will added to this mod .. but may I will implement this with the new version for vb4.0
