How to not to make tag pages, just use them as keywords?
so that if there is a tag posted "sports" for a thread it appears only in thread tags with no link and no page for this tag as /forums/tags.php?tag=sports
Just use Tags as keywords

You will have to edit out what you don't want from the templates. To find the template - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.

I don't know what you mean "not to make tag pages at all". You said you want to use them as keywords, so you want to leave the box at the bottom of the threads, right? I mean if you don't want the tags at all, then you can just turn off the whole tagging option.

I mean that no pages are generated when i write new tags
but the tags are used only as meta keywords

What pages do tags usually generate? All they are are tags. I'm still confused about this.

Delete the page tags.php. And do a search in templates for tags.php and then get rid of the link for them (get rid of the <a> tags around the tag name so they don't link).
