Cookie domain problem. Use the tools.php to restore it, making sure it's pointing to the forum directory and not the root one.

so it turns out it was all cookie problems from the very beginning haha, I fixed it by having the wordpress and vbulletin cookies saved to the same path. Everythings fixed and running, thanks for your help...

now I can finally click install for this mod :D

Hi folks,

I'm also receiving the "headers already sent" error when making a post. The plugin still manages to post to the correct forum with the correct title/username etc but there's no content, just the link back to the article itself.

Any ideas?

This is what I'm getting (see attachment).

Now going by that (I'm not 100% on PHP errors) I'm assuming there's something wrong with my child theme's functions.php at line 20.

Here's the full function found around that line (line 20 is the echo $output line):

I see the line in my editor, just not sure what to type.

This is when I Update a post, publish a post, etc.

I got everything else working. I do not want the posts to be published to my forums. I just wanted the user integration so I have the Post Articles to Forum option turned off.

What can I do to fix this?

Check your paths in the vbridge settings. Or, manually hardcode the link in the plugin file.

I can not past the first installation step, as soon as I turn on this plug in, when accessing wp's post, I would get this:

Whenever I activate the "Auto-Integrate" on I keep getting blank pages for all of Wordpress. I tried mapping "Unregistered / Not Logged In" as every possible role but I get the same results (blank pages).

That said, if I head over to the forum and log in (either as a user or an admin), I get all Wordpress pages with no problem.

Any suggestions?

I have the solution to the above problem

If you have your forums set so that unregistered users can not view your forum then unregistered users will not be able to view the log. There wont be an error message just a blank page. Hope this helps someone else

I've just discovered that Complete vBridge is screwing with "Set Featured Image". It hits you with the dreaded "Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again." page.

I have installed this into WP 3.0.3 and VB vBulletin 4.1.0 Patch Level 2 and am having a strange problem. Posts are going over but new user registration in WP is not. Also for some reason the side bar content is now blank. We had several side items that disappear when the bridge is active and if i turn it off or deactivate it the content reappears. I would appreciate it if anyone has had this problem or knows where to start looking to let me know.

The WP user system is completely disabled with this plugin, it uses VBulletin's users and user registration.

We had several side items that disappear when the bridge is active and if i turn it off or deactivate it the content reappears.

Sounds like you're not mapping users properly and those side items disappear because your usergroup doesn't have the required permissions to use them.

I tried setting all users to administrators on the vb map users page and the sidebar content still gets knocked out. Also i don't see anything that is saying that sidebar items have user permissions. Is there someplace specific to look for that?

I'm having a bit of a trouble in using vBulletin for comments. I can't seem to find the comments.php file. Where is the file located?

I found the comments file in the wordpress-3.0.3\wordpress\wp-includes\theme-compat

Directory, but, it doesn't match the bits you need to edit (Only the first 2 sections match)

So when a user replies to a post on the WP site, it doesn't add it to the Forum post

Like wise, comments in the threads, don't get posted on WP.

we managed to figure out one problem is that the addon gets confused on where to pull information from. Its looking for wp tables in the vb database.

I had this pretty much working, but ran into some issues (I won't rehash them, as they've all been mentioned in this thread). After about 2 days, I had to abandon the effort.

It's a shame there is not a more simple WP/vB user sharing project available. There seems to be no way to simply allow my vB users to comment on WP posts without creating a separate WP account.

Its definitely a database selection error. I rewrote one of our theme pages to call ourdatabase.wp_ratings and it worked. I am trying to track down what exactly is overriding the WP database selection. I am working on this for a customer but i think i might pick it up if it truly has been dropped by the current author.

I thought I'd post my solution in the hopes that it will help someone else.

I found this plugin, which allows WP users to authenticate from an external database:

I had to modify the source code to deal with vB's salted MD5 hashes, but apart from that it did the trick.

On the plugin config page select "Other" for the Password encryption method, then put this in for the Hash code:

$password2 = md5(md5($password) . $salt);

Then you'll just need to modify the plugin source code so it can grab the salt from the vB DB. Just search for case "Other" and replace what's there with this code:

just set this up on a new WP 3.0.4 and vB 4.1.1 site. The user login and logout is working fine, and WP posts are being carried over to the forum with no problem.

I can't seem to get the comments to carry over though. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

I am a busy IT contractor who has a FULL schedule and just do not have time to donate to this project. (nor do I have time to support it for YOU even for $$)
VB 4.x is a disappointment on a major scale for me. I refuse to support it. I noticed 99% of the questions here lately are about that. No it does not work with 4.x, and if it does work with it, it was not my intention. I am so pissed off at IB about what in my opinion is an outright concerted effort to destroy vBulletin that I could care less if it works with it or not. Maybe they will fix it someday, but I can only hold my breath for so longThis all being said, one of my clients is now in need of this to work with 3.8 and has sponsored me start over on it. He has agreed to allow me to release this work to the public, however not here. For now, the only support I will be offering on this is at my website:

I have used the vbulletin/wordpress bridge on my website for two months now (wordpress 2.9.2 with vBulletin 4.0.8). I wouldn't say I had no issue to make it work but I managed to do it. The wordpress source code is hosted at the root of the web server (domain.com) and the vbulletin files are located at domain.com/forum. Both wordpress and vbulleting db tables are in the same database.

Recently, I have moved the website from one web server (server01) to a new one (server02). I just updated the config.php file with the new database information and everything worked fine.

The old server (server01) will no longer be used (to many issues with the hardware). It was hosting my 2 DNS servers for the domain (domain.com). Yesterday, I started to move my nameservers to the new server (server02). Since then, the vbulletin/wordpress bridge (when activated) started displaying "Blank" page ( if I turn the plugin off, the wordpress pages display correctly).

Right now, my new DNS server ip seems to be propagated worldwide. Is there a link between the new DNS servers and the fact that the bridge is not working since then ?

If anybody knows how to fix this, it would be really appreciated.

I did have to change one function call that was deprecated in WP 3.1. What will it break? Will it corrupt my forums?

We switched servers and all of a sudden started getting this error on vb 3.8:

This version is designed for the 3.8 line of vBulletin. It may however work with 4.x however it is not by design. I have no use for version 4 of vBulletin so I will not be developing this mod to work with it. If for some reason it does not work with 4.x, cry to IB, not me.

Okay I installed his vb3 wordpress bridge and it's working in vb4.1.4

Before you do that though, you must have wordpress in the same folder as your vbulletin forum.

the forum is in the /o/ folder and wp is in root

Go to http://www.lampwrights.com/showthread.php?t=261 and you'll find the updated plugin... and the patch to manually fix it for WP 3.3. You have to make manual file changes to two files but it's easy to do.

Also, it's easy to downgrade to 3.2.1 again. I'm testing the patch on my DEV forum and having a few Admin permission issues that still need worked out. So I downgraded my Production Forum to 3.2.1 again.

Just over-write the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and all the root WP folder files EXCEPT wp-config with 3.2.1 files.
Log in to admin and you will probably get an "Upgrade Database" prompt. Just click OK.

I'm using this for WP 3.8.2 and not having any issues. I don't use it to post anything back on the forum. But it logs in registered members from VB for commenting on WP without any issues.
