user registration before reading a thread

I want to let guests view my forum home page and see the forums and threads, but when they click to read them they are forced to register. I have tried to do it with usergroups "Can View Thread Content" but that makes them private and does not force registration. Can someone please tell me how to do this or link me to a mod if available. I have searched already but have not found anything. Thanks

EDIT: got it, IT WAS Can View Thread Content, so easy...dunno how i messed that up the first time....

You might also consider Limited Guest Viewing -- Motivate Guests to Register (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178720). This mod will let people see things first and evaluate the quality of the site, and then force them to register if they want to keep viewing. As opposed to locking them out all together.

What was the option? Set guests to can view thread content and that's it?

There is now way that when you choosed "Can View Thread Content" it make them privet.
i checked this option in my forum and it works fine to me.
when the guest press on the thread he is force to the registration
