CMOD the following directories to 777
/photos (inside classifieds directory)
/tmp (inside classifieds/photos directory)

For security reasons backup your database AND turn your board off
Check at your AdminCP->vBulletin Options->Plugin/Hook System that Plugin system is enabled.
From your AdminCP->Plugin System->Manage Products choose Add/Import Product and import the product: product_classifieds.xml
If you want to add a link to your nav bar then you must edit the NAVBAR template:

If you've installed vbSEO, Login into vbSEO Control Panel, click "Custom Rewrite Rules", insert rewrite rules (attached in vbseo-rules.txt to not lose formatting) and save settings.4.- Copyright

I know this probably isn't the place, but i will give you a suggestion on a mod that is seriously needed and i think most people would be willing to pay something for it, a shopping cart. I have been looking everywhere and i can't find one that is vbulletin friendly. A great example of a shoppign cart for vbulletin is cartplog, but sadly the author decided not to follow through with a pro version. The light version is alright, but it is missing allot of needed stuff.

I just don't know enough about coding to take a big swing at cartplog. But from what i have read, the original author doesn't have the time either. Maybe morgan/calorie, would let you take over cartplog and you can build it into a commercial version.

Screenshoots attached. As for 3.8.x I can't say anything as I don't have it. Most probably yes, but there is no guarantee.

You can see a working example of the cartplog on my site, but it really isn't a good program, very limited in what you can do with it and the author has abandoned the mod. http://www.insanemustangs.com/forums/cartplog.php

I have it set up right now where you can view the cart without being a registered member, and if you read my last couple posts on the cartplog thread, you will see some of the stuff i listed that the program is missing.

And seriously, i think this will be a money maker (shopping cart). I have done allot of searches on this lately, and this is one mod that is really needed for us. The classifieds are too, but a cart would put most of our sites over the top.

At Usergroup permissions you can setup how many photos per ad can members of that usergroup upload.

Without any mean to offend you, you're doing something wrong. This script is working for 1 1/2 years now. There was a wrong approach on coding this point on the early days as I had that number counting the photos for all Ads that a user has. Later I changed it to be the max photos per Ad, and since then I had no any complain. But I'll try in my installation and I'll revert a bit later.

By the chance, I found a wrong approach on uploading the photos one by one. I've changed it to support multiple uploads in another script, but seems that I forgot to do the same in Classifieds. Maybe during the week, I'll post an update as it look likes childish uploading one by one.

All of these look good but it's missing something very useful on these classifieds.

Why not change the style of any classified sytem to a classified system where members can post/reply to that classified item(s).

For example if I use this mod: They will only see what I upload and what ever info. I put down.
and thats it, pretty much you buy it or not.

Best way to have it would be:

Members can come inside that item, and reply/post on the item. Can you show me a picture of the engine, of the rear tires, details and key info, which a buyer can request, without sending an email.

Pretty Much like the review post php thingy.

As quest I was not able to see the user menu and so the link to add an ad. Of couse, as I know the links, I tried the direct link and it's true that I seen the form to add an ad, so something is going wrong with your setup, as I tried to my test installation and even with direct link I can't add an ad.

I've tryed almost everything, disable other hacks, revert permissions in user groups, re-installed the product and nothing seems to be effective.

Try something ... Setup REGISTER users to not be able to add an ad. Then try with direct link:

Uploaded, cmod'ed the correct directories, installed the plugin, added the vbseo-rules.txt to my Custom Rewrite Rules in VBSEO, checked the Classifieds settings in the ADMINCP, and enabled in usergroups, and added categories.

When I add a product and click SAVE I get a blank page at http://www.extremebusa.com/extreme/classifieds/

I did notice that the index.php file is empty... not sure if that's a problem.

Try to remove the first line of vbseorules:

'^classifieds\.php$' => 'classifieds/'

Try a trick. Open classifieds.php and find:

if($_REQUEST['do'] == 'editad') {


Just below add:

if(!($userid= $vbulletin->userinfo['userid']))
{
print_no_permission();
}

With this part of code every visitor to the page for adding/editing an Ad without an active userid (and so the Guest), will gets a permission error message.
Save file and upload it.

Okay I fixed that issue. Seems I did not upload a couple of directory files.
I have a new issue now when clicking the "Add Classified" link. I get an error message.....

As you supposed, the error comes as there are no categories (categoryid=). You can add categories/subcategories from the admincp.

For some reason photos are not uploading or showing.

I have CHMOD 777 photos, thumbs, tmp. I have in usergroups allowed user to post 5 photos.

Also when I select number of photos to say '3' it only allows one photo to be up loaded.

Not sure why photos are not up loading

*SOLVED*

Some questions.

1. Why do all new ads automatically show up as sponsored and premium ads? What is the sponsored and premium ad status for, if all ads are tagged this way unless I manually remove the status one by one? edit: I found answer to this in 3.8 mod thread.

2. Some members (sellers) do not use Paypal.
If no email address is entered for Paypal payments, buyer is still directed to fill out the form, and then is taken to pay-pal site just to see error about no valid email address. I believe this would irritate the potential buyer.
Is there a way to automatically remove (or hide), the "buy it link and image" from displaying, when seller does not accept pay-pal? Maybe redirect them to PM the seller for info. edit: I found solution to this.

3. Is there anyway for seller to "close an ad", or "mark it Sold" after they have sold the items listed in an ad? Some way so that people could not be send payments after the seller has sold out. edit: after reading in 3.8 mods thread, I don't believe this is possible dur to the fact that you have sellers using paypal and some not using it. Those not using paypal would not have any basis to mark sold off of.


I've clicked "installed" but only have it on my test site right now until I understand it better. So far :up: I like it.

Do you mean payments to website owner for posting Ads or to the Ad's owner to pay for items that he/she is selling?

I mean the complete system, instead of when someone makes a bid or whatever on an Ad they don't pay in paypal but they pay automatically from credits that are on their account in the database such as VBCredits and the Ad owner gets paid in credits aswell.

I posted this in here because it seems to be a more friendly thread than the one over in 3.8.
They seem to be a little harsh over there.

Concerning whether photo limits are per user or per add.
nope... it's per overall. I just verified it ... .........

TO FIX:... in Classifieds.php, around line 425

CHANGE:

The default code does indeed to be per user. at least that is how it works for me.

But when I changed code as shown above, it seemed to fix it, but actually did not. While that code change will allow photos per ad to be set, when you go back and edit ad, you can upload another set of photo's, and if you edit and upload again and again, you can post as many photo's as you want. It completely bypasses all limits, as it only seems to deal with number of photo's uploaded per instance, and not per ad. So I am going back to default of per user total until you can find a way to make it per ad for us.

Per ad would be ideal Mary.
Both per ad and a seperate total overall for group/user would be even better.

If you make this change, please post notice here for us.

We sure ask a lot of you coders considering your product is free, don't we?

Another suggestion is to have thumbnails set the same as you have set for your vb forums. I'm having trouble with thumbnails display. Even tho' I have both width and height set to 60 px. The vertical pics will stand tall but the horizontal pics remain very small.

How could I set it to use my vb thumbnail options?

I would like to Not have the date/time imput showing to sellers, either on posting new ad, or editing an ad. I would rather have it based off start time as when posted, and expiration time automatically set to what I have set in Catorgory.

I would like to still have the date/time options available to admin if we edit an ad, but not to the seller.

I'm no coder, but I have tried various things, that do not work.
So I have to ask for help again. I know it's got to be simple, but I'm not bright enough to spot it. LOL

The default price field should be a required field before submiting.

As it is now, a seller can leave price empty, enter their paypal email and submit it. Then when buyer trys to purchase, the amount of "0" is passed to paypal.

Also it would be good to have option of making additional fields required or not as we desire.

Read step 7. in installation instructions.

"By default none usergroup has permissions to use vbfclassifieds, so you need to give permissions to any group. Goto AdminCP->Usergroups->Usergroup Manager and edit any usergroup you like to give permissions."

You have to set permissions for each usergroup first.

Maria, I hope you are healthy and well. It's been awhile since you've been online. I hate to pile up so many question in between your replies, but if I don't post as I'm think of it, I tend to forget. Old age is sooo much fun. :D

I've noticed that when an Ad is Deleted, it does not remove/delete the attachments from the photo file. They just remain there and the folder keeps getting larger, because old photo's are still left on the server.

so impressed with my testing of this and it's small, simple and fast footprint I'll be ditching ppost classifieds (bloated for my needs, heinous to alter and hideous to upgrade). One question.. How do I get a header graphic to show throughout all of the classifieds? Is there one place I can put this or will it have to go in each template? I would like it to be under the breadcrumb, so if someone can tell me where the breadcrumb template is? Thanks!

The standard for resizing images is:
1.- Setting max width
2.- Setting max height
In this case the uploading image is resizing such a way, so none of the dimensions (height or width) to be higher the maximum. This way the image keeps the best quality. Much more, if you check my code, I'm using resampling instead resizing to give better quality.
If I was following your way, the photo should strech to get the dimensions, loosing the quality.
Of course there is other method to use crop and then resizing/resampling, but sorry this is for photo galleries etc and not for a classified module.

Today I decided to let all my modules here unsupported, as I seen that most members dosen't respects my work, the time that I spent to develope and support them. Worst of all they don't respect even the laws.

I didn't asked anything in exchange. No money, not even to register in my site as most other developers ask for. What I asked, and I was expecting to find from their side, is a small gredit to me as a person, by letting my copyright in place.

Unfortunatelly, doing a simple search in Google (anybody can check it) for "vbulletin memberindex" I found dozens of sites having removed my copyright. Thank you all of you my dear. You're giving a shit to the only rule that I put. But I'm wondering why you don't dare to remove Jelsoft's copyright. Because it's a big company while I'm just a single person, much more, a woman. My congratulations men!!

heres a tip for you, rewrite the copyright to ITS FREE, DO WHAT YOU WANT. and go for a donation based system.

I'll continue posting most of my modules for free, I'll continue supporting them, but on my site only or to sites which accept encoded modules. Free yes... But not with visible source code any more. Microhellas, I definitely am against folks removing copyright links/lines, etc. I think that most folks who are on the up and up would absolutely respect your rules and I hope that those that keep the copyright links in tact would get support from you.

I personally have both MemberIndex and Classifieds (Purchased MemberIndex back when you were vbfreelancers and also purchased the copyright removal) and I totally understand your frustrations but I think you are really going out on a limb just blaming "men" :( .

As I usually tend to take these type of post personally, I couldn't help but to sympathise with you on this one. But I do have an idea :up:. Why not make an "upgraded version" of both and code it where if the copyright is removed, the plug-in doesn't work and cannot be repaired easily manually?? That way, anyone who removes your copyright without your "copyright removal file" will not be able to use the plug-in without informing you of their "misdeeds"...

About a year ago, a friend of mine coded a (very simple) mp3 music player addon for vbulletin and someone got a copy of it and tried to remove the copyright and redistribute it. But when the copyright was removed, all of the text from the mod changed to "This website is using illegal software" and any mp3 uploaded didn't play, the music player would just say, "you are now currently using illegal software, you are now using illegal software" LMAO!!!

If I can find some time in my busy schedule, I'll try to help you secure your software. Just because I am 100% against ANYONE using pirated or illegal software. I even discontinued 3 past website partnerships for I found out they were using Nulled vbulletin software.. (as a note, none of those sites exists anymore lol lol)

I was getting a blank page with classifieds.php (with or w/o vbseo).
