This system offers an advanced management system for all types of reported content including:

Posts
Group Messages
Group Pictures
Profile Album Pictures
Group Picture Comments
Profile Album Picture Comments
Private Messages
Visitor Messages

Features of this hack (some of which are illustrated by the screenshots):

Report tracking for the reporter
Report management area accessible from the Mod CP and Admin CP
Full integration with notifications menu
Commenting/update system
Ajax loading of the reported content from within the CP
Quick links related to the report/report discussion
Can set to only display reports that moderators have permissions to 'do something about'
Fully phrased to allow easy translation

Installation Instructions:

Backup your forum database. You are installing this modification at your own risk - I will not be held responsible for any damages or losses to your computer/web server/site data/vBulletin installation that occur from trying to install/uninstall this hack.
Extract the files from the .zip archive
Open the upload directory
If you have changed the directory names of the Mod CP or the Admin CP from the defaults you will need to apply the same changes here.
Upload the contents of the 'upload' directory to the forum directory on your web server
When the uploads are complete go into the Admin CP and expand the 'Plugins and Products' menu on the left-hand side.
Click the 'Manage Products' link in the menu you just expanded.
Click the '[Add/Import Product]' link at the bottom of the page.
In the 'OR import the XML file from your server' text box change 'product.xml' to 'product-pprm.xml'
Click 'Import'
Click OK on the prompt
Make sure in the vBulletin Options menu under 'User Infractions & Post Reporting Options' that Post Reporting Email is not set to 'no e-mail'. Due to the core hook location of this hack it will not work if e-mailing is not enabled in the vBulletin options. However, this can be overridden on the PPRM configuration page.
and you're all done :) You may wish to change the configuration of PPRM, this can be done from the Post Reports menu in the Admin CP navigation.
Mark the mod as installed (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=205087), this is so you can receive updates regarding the mod. I won't spam you or send you drunken e-mails lolol.

This hack is still in beta phase and I would really appreciate your feedback with any bugs/errors/design issues you encounter. Things to watch out for are compatibility issues with non-major browsers and the 'acknowledge permissions' setting not working as I've only done a very limited amount of testing on it.

The inspiration for this hack came from Distance's Advanced Post Report System for 3.6 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=137031) which was an upgrade of a mod by some guy called pig, lol.

Very happy to see this made. Does this import from the other post report mod?

Pedro!
02-12-2009, 02:10 PM
There's no importation from Distance's Advance Post Reports for 3.6. I could try knock up a script to do it but it won't be ready for a couple of days though as I've got to do some skinning in time for Valentine's Day. I can't see any problem with installing mine though and leaving that one disabled in the meantime.

This is a really interesting hack. The default post reporting function can greatly be improved.

It would be awesome if you would add post report -> infraction integration:

When filing a post report, a member would would select the reason for the report from predefined options and would add an explanation. These options are the same as the infraction reasons.
When the moderator handles the report, the moderator has the option to convert the report into an infraction.
When the member is infracted, the infraction discussion includes a link to the report discussion or even better: the discussions are merged.
It is possible to see both the infraction discussion thread as the report discussion thread from the infraction tab on profile.What do you think?

The issue with making this a default function is a major part of forums do not use the report function for just this. We also use this to request stickies and post moves.

This is what I noticed...

The email that is sent to the moderators/administrators has some errors. For starters, it doesn't properly display the reporter's name. For example, the email begins like this:

( mailto: ) has reported this post:

Second thing I noticed in the email was the link for the post. This is how it is displayed in the email:

( mailto: ) has reported this post:

http://www.supportingteens.net/forums/showthread.php?p=#post

Notice there is no post number.

Additionally, the same problem comes up with the thread link:

http://www.supportingteens.net/forums/showthread.php?t=

Again, lacking a thread ID number.

The reason for the post is also not displayed properly. It says "This is the reason the user gave:" but there is nothing listed, and I know there should be, because I did this as a test and I did put something in as a reason!

Ironically, the discussion thread link is created properly!

A discussion thread has been created at http://www.supportingteens.net/forums/showthread.php?t=343

Thanks for a great mod!! I love it!!

I don't know if this is the problem for you, but here are two possible solutions for you to try:

1) Any post reports made BEFORE you installed this mod will not show up...sorry
2) Make sure that in Vbulletin options you have enabled the email sending feature AND a discussion thread, as it says in the installation directions! If you do not enable each of these, the mod will not work!!

Hope that helps,

Pedro... Did you see the bugs I listed with the email?? You didn't respond, so I wasn't sure if you saw them!!

Ah, no, I somehow overlooked them, eep. Are you running it with e-mail enabled? If so might be something to do with my somewhat cumbersome solution to overriding the e-mail setting. I'll pop over to the .com forums later and request a new hook location and have a look if I've accidentally unset any of the arrays/variables the e-mail code uses. The reason it works in the CP is that the e-mail reporting is run after the hook that the mod uses.

As for the reported content thing, what was it you were reporting and what browser are you using? Does it work for any other reports and what was the content of the post? Also do you get any javascript errors? lol use Ctrl + Shift + J in Firefox to check or if you're using IE the click the triangle in the bottom-left of the tab.

I RE:'d your e-mail too but I post here aswell anywayz

This is odd, on my live forum which was never used for testing after I installed 0.91 it worked fine, judging from your first e-mail it looks like distance's advanced post reports might not have been removed properly... I'm thinking that there might be a plugin left over that is interfering with my mod. is anything being created in the database? if the notification count changes then the reports are in the DB but aren't being returned, could you possibly crack out phpMyAdmin and have a look? there are three tables used... pprmReports pprmComments and pprmOptions, it's pretty obvious what each one is for ;)

are your runninng 3.8.1? if you are it may be something to do with that cos we're still running 3.8

Also would be nice if anyone can confirm if this works on 3.8.1.

Yep, that's the same file to import. You can browse to it and install that way it's just doing from your server is just easier.

You should also have the .xml file cpnav_pprm.xml which puts the navigation in the admin control panel. If you do not have this file then you should try redownloading the archive. The file is most definitely in there.

What does this do?

Acknowledge moderator permissions when displaying reports?
Recommended for forums with a large flow of reports

Pedro!
02-16-2009, 08:39 PM
Well, it means that when a mod goes to open/closed reports in the CP it will only show the reported posts in the forums they can moderate. It also checks moderator permissions with pictures, picture comments and visitor messages.

These are the permissions checked:

switch($report_type) {

case 'post':
if (can_moderate($irow['forumid'])) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'gm':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditgroupmessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletegroupmessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'canmoderategroupmessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'canremovegroupmessages')) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'gp':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditalbumpicture') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletealbumpicture')) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'pap':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditalbumpicture') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletealbumpicture')) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'gpc':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditpicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletepicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'canmoderatepicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'canremovepicturecomments')) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'papc':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditpicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletepicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'canmoderatepicturecomments') OR can_moderate(0, 'canremovepicturecomments')) {$can_view = 1;}
break;

case 'pm':
$can_view = 1;
break;

case 'vm':
if (can_moderate(0, 'caneditvisitormessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'candeletevisitormessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'canmoderatevisitormessages') OR can_moderate(0, 'canremovevisitormessages')) {$can_view = 1;}

Question which I hope you could answer: I need to use it near the end of the month. Could you give me an ETA on when you think the beta phase is over? I am running a Forum with 80,000+ members so I try to avoid installed beta hacks since they are called beta for a reason hehe. In a week or so, this hack could be very important for my site.

Thank you in advance mate and keep up the good work!

i dont understand was it needed to import the xml file in the include folder? i just thought i just have to upload only.

the reason the xml file needs to be imported is to add the templates and plug-ins which do not have their own files but are stored in vBulletin's database it also makes the product exist in the products menu. It doesn't matter whether you browse to the xml file on your pc, upload it and import it or whether you upload all the files in the /upload/ directory and then import it from your server - it just matters that you import it.

Such a quality hack Pedro, I really like the looks of it. This hack just needs to be installed on my Forums!

Glad you like the look of it :) There's 33 installs and 43 downloads of v0.92 which has been out 5 days without any bug reports. I want to introduce the option to ignore reports that are Under Investigation when making the notification count so will probably do that and if there aren't any bug reports for this current version will go gold (v1.00), say, 7 days from now. That would give it a couple of weeks out in the wild which seems long enough for a mod of this size. It's only really in beta cos it's new and there might be error's I've overlooked. There isn't any crazy experimental code in there or anything so it should stable.

jambo_1969
02-19-2009, 05:01 PM
Pedro - if you can introduce a feature to stop members from abusing the reporting system (ban a user from accessing report.php) you would make my Mods VERY happy...

I currently hard code an amend to report.php as...

if (!$vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] OR
$vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] == XX)
{
print_no_permission();
}

but maybe there's a way of integrating into your excellent mod ?

I do not know if this bug has been fixed already, but I just noticed it... sorry if someone else has already mentioned...

After the post has been reported, and a moderator updated its status in the ModCP, the user can view the report status by going quick links -> your post reports ... which is good.

However, the post link leads to a page not found. I am referring to the word "post" right above the status updates. If you are confused, I have inserted this screenshot.

Currently, it links to this: http://www.supportingteens.net/showthread.php?p=1276#post1276

Lists the post number twice, and leads to an error page!

Thanks again!!

Is there any way to implement a pruning option? It'd be nice to remove old post reports without having to go into the database table to remove them... that's a lot of work!

I know, it would be a lot of work to create a pruning tool, but I just thought I'd ask! Otherwise, my 'Closed Reports' window fills up REALLY fast, and becomes clogged...

Well, it means that when a mod goes to open/closed reports in the CP it will only show the reported posts in the forums they can moderate. It also checks moderator permissions with pictures, picture comments and visitor messages.

We have a problem.
Category Moderators see all reported posts from all forums.

Category Moderators should only show the reported posts in the forums they can moderate.

How can fix that ?

Also,
When i enable the "Acknowledge moderator permissions when displaying reports?" option

if Moderators clicks the open or closed reports links then:
Database error in vBulletin 3.8.1:

Invalid SQL:

SELECT COUNT(*) AS count
FROM pprmReports AS reports
WHERE reports.status != 'closed' AND reports.type != gm AND reports.type != gp AND reports.type != pap AND reports.type != papc AND reports.type != gpc AND reports.type != vm ORDER BY reports.prID DESC;

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'gm' in 'where clause'
Error Number : 1054

I fixed that with edit the modcp/pprm.php file
if (pprm_ack_perms() == true) {

//Do crazy ANDs for permissions

$z = 0;

$reporttype = array('post','gm','gp','pap','papc','gpc','pm','vm ');

while ($z < 8) {

if (pprm_check_perms($reporttype[$z]) == false) {

$where .= "AND reports.type != " . $reporttype[$z] . " ";

}

$z++;

}

}

to

if (pprm_ack_perms() == true) {

//Do crazy ANDs for permissions

$z = 0;

$reporttype = array('post','gm','gp','pap','papc','gpc','pm','vm ');

while ($z < 8) {

if (pprm_check_perms($reporttype[$z]) == false) {

$where .= "AND reports.type != '" . $reporttype[$z] . "' ";

}

$z++;

}

}

What is wrong ?

I think the problem you're running into is it only adds reports to the system that were reported AFTER you installed the mod. Make sense? So if you installed the mod on Mar 20, a report from Mar 19 will not show up. This is not a bug; that's just how it works.

To verify this, do a "test report" (after the mod is installed) and make sure it shows up in the system.

Make sense?

Are you getting any errors? Try uninstalling, and re-doing everything. I don't know why it wouldn't be working at all; it works fine for me. Let me know of any error messages you receive...

I'm not sure what's going on as everyone elses seems to be working okay... can you look in your database and see if anything exists in the pprmReports table? Are you running any other report hacks/mods? If so try and disable those and see if it makes a difference...

Oh, also sorry I haven't brought out any updates, I've been rather busy lately! Will be giving this hack some attention and hopefully be implementing some of the suggested features soon (including an ImpEx tool)

We have a problem.
Category Moderators see all reported posts from all forums.

Category Moderators should only show the reported posts in the forums they can moderate.

How can fix that ?

Ah, I think I forgot to make it check the forum ID so it just checking if they can moderate any forum. I'll fix this in the next release. I'll also fix the SQL error.

There aren't any rows in the pprmReports table. I don't have any other report plugins/products installed. Here's what I do have installed: http://www.grabup.com/uploads/035e3d33a2a5a0ef7c464612a68d9ecf.png

I would suggest disabling all other mods you are running via the plugins/products area of the AdminCP. After all others are disabled, do a test report to see if it works. If so, then go back and enable the products one by one, doing test reports in between. That way, you'll be able to tell which mod is interfering with this one. Make sense?

Hey Pedro, quick bug report... When looking at "Closed" post reports in the CP, if you click on any of the following pages, it goes to

http://www.xxxxxxxx.com/forum/mcp/pprm.php?show=open&page=2

Line 392 of pprm.php : $pagenav .= " <a href=\"pprm.php?$session[sessionurl]show=open&amp;page=$thispage\" class=\"normal\">$thispage</a> ";

is incorrect.. I fixed it in the interim by creating an "area" variable that is set by the case statement....

Yes right i fixed it too .

Open modcp/pprm.php

Find:
$pagenav .= " <a href=\"pprm.php?$session[sessionurl]show=open&amp;page=$thispage\" class=\"normal\">$thispage</a> ";

Change to:
$pagenav .= " <a href=\"pprm.php?$session[sessionurl]show=closed&amp;page=$thispage\" class=\"normal\">$thispage</a> ";

Yes. As always, there are options to have it create a discussion thread, send an email, send a PM, etc.

Thank you..Installed.

Is there away to have a PM or a notification sent to the reporter when the reported post is updated?

Not that I am aware of. They would have to check in their "Reported Posts" to check the status. Unless the moderator would manually PM the reporter after addressing the situation, I guess...

I don't believe there is one. I don't have any reported on my board to verify that with, but if you're referring to when you view the report in the admincp, there isn't one. What I do is I also create a discussion thread, and the moderators discuss it in that staff-only forum, and then after it's been discussed, it's addressed in the ModCP. Make sense? Hope that helps!

With regards to the link to the post, I'm not sure if this is erroneous or whether you're just not seeing it because it's quite subtle. You have to look at the top of the report where it says

"UserX has reported UserY's post/picture/etc."

The bit in bold is the link, up there are also links to each users profile. This screenshot (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=94686&d=1234417036) might help explain what I'm talking about.

Wasn't that what you said like a few months ago, before your extended leave of absence? :) Just kidding... It's a great mod, and you did a lot of work on it. I am glad to provide support where I can, but unfortunately, I'm very inexperienced when it comes to working with vB code. I have not gotten down into vB's default code enough to feel confident when it comes to coding add-ons for vB. Hence the reason why I have not made any of my own mods...

Hi Pedro, I've been using your mod for awhile, great job btw and only now I've noticed that date and time on reports discussions just gives me "d/m/Y @ G:i" for all updates and even when the report it self was sent just show me the same. I mean date and time are not parsing.
May be that's because my main language does not matches english standard and I have some different settings as locale for date and time.
I've read everything here but no one has reported this issue before. Any tips ?

Thx.

Edited: I've got it. Just for those with the same issue, I've edited both pprm.php file(one on root and other on modcp folder) and changed the format in two lines on those files for the same date and time format I have at locale. It worked great.

Some immediate feedback from some of my 50 moderators...

Moderators only want to be notified of the reported posts in the forums they moderate.
If no moderators are assigned to a forum then admin need to be notified.
Since our moderators moderate several forums, we need to see (in the reported post list) the forum containing each reported post.

Hope the feedback helps and I have explained it all ok!
Thanks.

In fact, my moderators have asked that I roll back to Distance's 3.6 version (which still works) because they only want to see the reports which apply to them and need to see which forum the reported threads are in.

MentaL,

If you've read the description of this mod, the issue you described has been commented on before. It's listed under "known issues" and has been for quite some time now. The easy work around (until it is fixed) is to disable the moderator permissions option. Then there should not be an SQL error.

Okay guys, the update for this only just got rolled out. Mostly a f**k-up on for not keeping on top of the mod due to a busy summer and university but also for some reason I am not receiving notification e-mails of PMs and it took the .org team 11 days to roll out the 0.93 update.

There was a significant security flaw in the previous releases therefore everyone should update to 0.93 ASAP. I have no intentions of switching to vB4.0 (and I imagine many others feel the same) so when I get time I will start working on the other bugs people have made apparent. This may not be until Christmas as time is a precious commodity for me nowadays what with university and other projects.

Again, apologies for the latency of this update - the next one will probably see the mod out of beta.

Did you get chance to see my feedback and requests for important enhancements here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1845769#post1845769)?

Yeah unfortunatly unless I get some free time soon I won't be able to fix that til christmas.

Will have a look at this later but make sure it's not getting corrupted in the upload process... try setting your FTP to auto.

The admin CP and MOD CP Parts don't work for our site. We get 404 errors. Help.

Sounds like you've changed your default directory names for security and forgotten to change them respectively for the mod pre-upload.

Any chance we can get the ability to close/delete/move threads and posts, and also give infractions to users right from the report in the ModCP? I've already made some modifications to show the forum title where the report came from (so mods can look for specific reports quicker). Something like inlinemod, but... erm... in the Mod CP (yes, the redundancy is awesome!)

Yeah I may look into doing something like this when I get an opportunity to work on the next. There is a link to the post at the top of the report I belive so time speant searching for it shouldn't be an issue, I edit the title though so instead of saying "X has reported Y's Z" it says "X has reported Y's Z in W" the trouble is I don't want to start cluttering the interface by including too many options, although I could change the side links to a drop-down menu in the next release to accommodate for extra options, we'll see!

*bows down and worships Pedro!*

I can think of several different huge forums I have been staff at that this particular mod would have made a night and day difference for. Thank you so much for releasing it!

Works mostly O.K.

Only issue is ran up against was that it does show newly made reports wich are perfectly placed in the section I wanted. Mods of mij forum als get a message, but when the click the link they get a database error.

This is because the do not have acces to the ACP, only admin and supermods can do this.
To fix this I'd have to set each mod to supermoderator, something I didn't have in mind, while my forum is set tot different sections belonging to separate moderators in wich each of them has specific rights. A supermoderator would have the same right over the complete forum.

Second issue is that not just the mod for who the report is to be handled by is getting the message of a new report, but everone, including alk mods of other sections of our board.

Standard out of VB reports are sent to a specfic, handset, section of our board. What I'd like to have is a feature wich sends an extra PM tot the moderator with the rights to fix it and none to any other.

Anyone?

It'd be really cool if this mod was updated for vB 4.0 compatibility... I had to disable it on my 4.0 forum because it was no longer compatible. But, I am keeping it installed, in hopes that Pedro! would please, please update it for compatibility!!!

I actually have some time this weekend so will try look at the database error you talked about superduiker.

Sorry Joe, I'm afraid I won't be upgrading to vB4 in the foreseeable future and therefore I won't be releasing this mod for vB4. Sorry for the disappointment.

I love this mod but am wondering if there is any possibility that the SQL error can be fixed:

"0.92 - With 'Acknowledge moderator permissions...' enabled an SQL error may occur when a moderator tries to access open/closed reports."

Disabling that option wouldn't be that helpful to me as all my mods are based in individual forums and it would be confusing if they started receiving reports from elsewhere, but at the moment with the option enabled they can't view reports at ALL :( Would like to see it fixed if at all possible!

One Major Issue when trying to go to a dif page of the closed reports in admin it just brings up a blank page :( so its impossible to view any closed reports except for page one. System works great though and has truly enabled my mods to fix bad links and threads.

I fixed this bug by editing the "Add Mod CP Navigation" plugin... It's been sometime, but I think all I did was make a minor modification to the pprm_closedreports URL...

Try replacing the contents with this:

construct_nav_option($vbphrase['pprm_openreports'], 'pprm.php?' . $session[sessionurl] . 'show=open');
construct_nav_option($vbphrase['pprm_closedreports'], 'pprm.php?' . $session[sessionurl] . 'show=closed');
construct_nav_group($vbphrase['pprm_postreports']);
construct_nav_spacer();

For anyone having this issue, I fixed it by editing /modcp/pprm.php

Find line 179, and edit to read

$where .= "AND reports.type != " . "'" . $reporttype[$z] . "'" . " ";

ie, we are adding a single quote round each side of the report type. Without this single quote, it won't work.

Hope this helps someone

Anyone know how to fix this to work for 3.8.7?

puddlove
05-19-2013, 12:33 PM
Is there a way to get this working on vB4? There's this and maybe 2 or 3 other plugins/mods that I need to get to work before I can upgrade from 3.8.7 and this one isn't working :(

It says this when I activate it on vB4:

Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: navbar_pprm_quicklink in [path]\includes\functions.php on line 4591

Fatal error: Call to a member function query_read() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\testvb\includes\class_bootstrap.php(12 27) : eval()'d code on line 16

I'm running this on WAMP in a test environment so I can afford to have a mess around with code to get it to work, if anyone has any suggestions.
