Photopost Pro image block for Member page

This product provides a block that goes onto the member page and displays images from Photopost Pro 6.X Gallery.

Using the options you can place the block at any of the 6 standard template hook locations in the MEMBERINFO template.

This mod has been tested with Photopost Pro 6.2, but it should work just fine with Photopost Pro 6.X and above... and maybe version 5.

This mod has been tested with vBulletin version 3.8 and should work with version 3.7 and up.

No... it shouldn't matter. Did you make sure to end the directory and url with a trailing slash? ie "/"

I'm willing to jump in on you setup and take a look around and see what the issues are.

I just need access to the vbulletin admin control panel, photopost control panel, FTP access and MAYBE access to your sql database to take a look at how the queries are shaping up.

Ok... if either of you would like pm some details to access an ftp server and admin access to your forums and I can take a look. It is probably something weird how I'm doing the queries. Also... if possible if you have access to phpadmin or something similar that would be good as well.

Also... the hook that you want it to show up in your page must be in your MEMBERINFO template.

Check for these:

$template_hook[profile_left_first]
$template_hook[profile_left_last]
$template_hook[profile_right_first]
$template_hook[profile_right_mini]
$template_hook[profile_right_album]
$template_hook[profile_right_last]

If the one that you want isn't in your template it isn't going to show up.

Ok I installed everything as instructed. Photopost and VB is in the same database as well. Nothing appears on the hook locations at my end. All the hook locations are already in all my styles/templates. Nothing shows up anyways. Can you please confirm if you can take a look at my site? I can pm you the details right away if you say so.

Thanks for the hack... MARK AS INSTALLED!!! :)

This mod was what I was looking for to add to my guild's site and it works great. The only two things I wish there was an option to not allow right clicking on images and change the "frame", (like drop-shadow) on how the image is shown. I know if someone really wants to save an image they can... if they know where and how to look but if one is annoyed enough by getting "No Right Clicking Allowed on Site" messages every time they tried, they would more than likely opt to not worry about it and keep trying to right click :p.

Which profile tabs? If you are talking about different places on the member page then take a look... all the template hooks are there and you can put them wherever you want.

Replying here just because you'll probably see it before my email tehtide, but the 1.0.5 beta you sent me still gives me the same error, I'm afraid. I expect this may be because I have seperate users for vB and Photopost, even though it's the same database.

As for suggestions, I've got mine set to show 15 images to fill the block up real nice. But I've got almost 1/2 an image width of space between the rows (5 per row). Too much, IMO. Would be nice to remove some of that wasted space if possible. Also, those 15 images are left aligned. Can they be centered in the block?

I was able to fix those up. The errors were carrying across the entire site (with firebug on alerting me to it) so I had to. ;)

One other thought I had, on the bottom of the block, "Vist Your Gallery" link.
It points to this URL (snipped off the irrelevent stuff):

member.php?uid=mynumberhere&protype=1;

But this link points to an ugly side of photopost I don't care for people to see if I can help it. Like many areas of the photopost gallery.

If you are in your pp gallery and click the "My Photos" link in pp toolbar, it takes you to this page instead.

Which to me is a lot nicer looking presentation page. (at least it is on mine)

That is something that came from photopost itself... if you look in photopost you'll see that on the end of many of the links.

As for centering it... I'm fighting that myself. I'm not the best HTML coder... but I'm getting there.

On the next release I hope to have the visual stuff cleaned up and more presentable.

Maybe what I need to do is add an option to give you a choice what link you want... to the member profile in photopost or to category 500...

It worked after disabling (unchecking the active box) this old product from the Plug In Manager: PhotoPost Gallery Photos in profile, on this hook: member_complete.

I guess I wasn't using it anyway. Got that info from Reef... Thanks Reef.

I also want to get rid of that huge extra space between each row of photos (ASAP!).

And I'd like the ability to show either both or whichever link on "Visiting X's Gallery." I think both versions have their place.

You have a plugin that is using the hook member_complete that is declaring the same function. Find that plugin and disable it.

yeah I'm pretty sure it was this, soon as i installed it the core dumps started, un-installed...they stopped! it almost cost me my host and server this mod for some reason, they were ready to blame me for it all... as i say, this made something crash and created 2000+ 50 meg files in my forums dir...be WARNED! :)

You can do this. It's in the settings. Vbulletin options > TLB PP Memberblock Settings.

I may have missed it, I've been using PP for years and never saw the protype=1 before this. Removing it from tlb_memberinfo_block_pp does kill the link from working correctly though. Takes you to the same place clicking a user name anywhere on the gallery does. To a profile page no one ever looks at.

Nice idea for the option. Yes it takes you to cat=500 but there you see listed your other albums in the other cats. If you had set this to use say, cat=501 it does not show anything else other than that, cat=501. In contrast, cat=500 page displays all album groups for the user and the option link to create new album.



When the next version comes out, I'll change this, but in the meantime, here's my fix for the extra space:

Not seeing any issues with this at all here. Might want to have your host look at your logs a bit closer to help you find out more.

BTW, Changing the sizes in that customized memberinfo_css section you suggested to:
height:60px;
width:85px;

Then number of pictures setting to be 15, fills the block perfectly. (For me)

I have vbadvanced integrated with this page so block space is limited. Centering solved. :)

You have a plugin that is using the hook member_complete that is declaring the same function. Find that plugin and disable it.

Nice mod and I have installed it. :up: I have the mod you refer to in the above quote and I have disabled it. That mod however, had a on/off feature that the members could turn on or off depending if they wanted those photos on their profile. I have yet to find that with this mod. Is there a chance you could add that ? :confused:

My problems were similar, couldn't declare pp_is_image. The script couldn't access the database either (think I know why), and my efforts to modify the script weren't successful.

Great mod. Two small things: The height should not be limited, as pictures will look strange, if done so. And the phrases showing the Tab should be done as phrases. Had to patch the mod, as we are a german board.

I know this isn't quite where this question should go, but maybe anyone reading this photopost mod has an answer. I'm using vB 3.8.4, have photopost 7, and would like to import to photopost. Their importer was developed for 3.7 and isn't working. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this. Thank you!
