I have someone constantly logged in even though i have banned his IP and i have set Usergroup permissions to login only

I have checked his IP with existing members and nothing ?

hes been logged in for 24hrs now and just viewing random posts ?

here he is at 4.48pm

I'm convinced that i need to kick him from my website but don't know how
I tried closing the forums for 1/2 hour
I'm confused how can i kick him of the website

Those are spiders. The first is from yahoo, the second is from google.

so what is a spider a bot that trawls your website

and gathers info ?

If you want to be listed in yahoo search or google search, the a yahoo spider or googlebot needs to crawl your site and see what you have. however, it looks like you have your threads set to not be viewable by unregistered guests (which is what a spider is). You could create a robots.txt file to tell them not to crawl (google it).

web spiders are google, yahoo, msn engines that take the keywords of your pages to index them into the database where you search when you go on google, yahoo and msn... they are harmless, as they can not access pages you block from guests.

it's good for people who are searching for a site like yours.

I only set permissions to registered guests because of this
I dont mind google or yahoo looking
Just was confused and worried as we not long been hacked 24hrs ago

nope... you have a privilege to see your post have 2 seconds sooner than mine -- remember that i'm hated by the system, it gives me planned lag...

@Baf, there are some spiders IP that will not be parsed properly, because the system is not very efficient... some msn crawlers are not idenfied as well.... but do not care, they are not dangerous. use a robots.txt file in the root of your forum via ftp if you need to get them off.

I have installed Guest tracker and allowed permissions but still don't see anything special like Spiders names etc...
