what is the advantage of this feature? i'm not understanding it. why would you want an unalterable user to be alterable? what if someone hacks there account. wouldnt this mod work against you?

Well - sometimes you want to edit your profile information perhaps via the AdminCP - generally unalterable user (Super Admin - user#1) cannot be edited in anyway - It's frustrating, and makes it easier to simply edit the account rather than having to edit the config.php file then edit the account - then revert the config.php file -- I suppose that's one purpose for it - I like the modification and have used it since 3.5.x days LOL

From what I've gathered for those asking is that you can only edit the things that really present no security risk. For example you or nobody else can delete your account, change your password, change your usergroup, etc. So for example say you wanted to change something like your name, user title, etc. (harmless and possibly routine items). Then you will be able to do this by bringing up the user editor on yourself rather than as posted before bringing up your config file to unprotect you and then reprotect which is annoying. So things that need to stay protected and un editable are and things that are handy for you to be able to change about yourself presenting no risk then well now you can.

I really needed this. A constant annoyance for my evolving board. Thanks

I installed this and it allowed me to change my admin password! Sorry this is not actually working correctly!

Your MOD description says the PW can not be changed however that is NOT true!

I have uninstalled this until this is actually fixed!

It does NOT allow you to change the password. It doesn't give an error if you try to, but if you log out and login again, you will see that you have your original password still in tact.
