we desperately need new social groups home page

what I envision for main social groups home page:

top= live categories list in tree form can be 1-5 columns or so. so you have category name then social groups listed beneath

middle= your groups, your groups that have been updated, what you are subscribed to, etc

bottom= group stats, most active, latest groups, latest public group comments, etc.

I reckon nobody's going to do that without payment of some sort to be honest. But you never know.
