These are the directions from your site for an install (import) of the miserable users hack:
To install this hack simply download the xml file to your pc and then import it into vbulletin as a product.
In the control panel i went to import but i get the message: 'Cannot find ImpExConfig.php, have you configured the file and renamed it ?'
Am I in the right place? Can someone help me with the import please.
Thank you very much!

Moved to the correct place. Or are you asking for someone to do the import for you (as in Paid?)

If you have problems with a modification, the best place to ask for help is in the modification since they know the mod best and can help you better.

You're trying to import from the wrong place. That's the Impex import menu button. You want to go down to Plugins & Products>Manage Products>Add/Import Product.

Once you have finished with ImpEx, you should remove it (after finalising the import).

Removing Impex is a good idea, but the method of doing so is not obvious. There's no option to do so under the Import menu; there's no option in Manage Products; and there's no mention of it at all in the manual.
Ignoring her case for a moment - she didn't install it and may not even have FTP access - I installed mine and did the import like 2 years ago and right now I'm totally clueless how to uninstall it.
Pointers welcome. It seems to me it won't be quite as easy as just deleting a single folder somewhere.?

You just need to delete all the ImpEx files you uploaded. This is mentioned in the manual, under "Final Import Steps (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/impex_cleanup)".

Thanks. Who would have thought that deleting files was an Import step? That's a new one on me. And only useful for someone that's just downloaded the package and thus actually has a list of files. Totally useless for everyone else, like myself and the OP.
Is there some reason Impex can't be packaged as a Product now, along with it's own uninstaller? There's a reason we pay the big bucks for vb - convenience.
Edit: Hard to believe, but I actually found my old Impex 1.77 install from years ago. There are only two things to delete - the Impex folder itself, but also /includes/xml/cpnav_impex.xml . Not having deleted the latter, Impex was still showing up in my AdminCP.

When you install vbulletin, deleting the install.php script is part of the installation procedure.

My point is that it may need to be a bit easier. One works with a product like Impex for a while when importing, so it's hard to remember to delete Impex files manually, possibly months after installing it. Why not a simple "uninstall" button? Only good behavior for a modern script.
Can you think of a reason why there shouldn't be an uninstall routine for Impex in 2009? Doesn't vblog have one?
