Googl Meta- Code /Where must placed?

I try to verify my site to Google webmaster tools with Html meta-code.
I put the code on forumhome template but if i click verify the site to the Google webmaster tools tells me that is not verifyed.

Where must be in the templates the google meta code?

When you signup for webmaster tools the google will give you a file name, i.e:

abcd12345ksjsjs.htm

You need to create an empty file (use notepad) and give it that name. Once done, upload the file to you server root so that it can be accessed via the following URL

http://www.yoursite.com/abcd12345ksjsjs.htm

Then verify the site

Remember the file name given here is just an example

If you want to use the meta tag, place it in the headinclude template. Frankly, creating the file is easier though.
