View Full Version : Trying to import games = "Timeout"

I've just removed and reinstalled the arcade, as I wanted to start from scratch
I've got a whole bunch of tarred game files in the correct directory, I click "Install all" and after 180 seconds, I get a php time out error
If I'm lucky, a single game might actually install during that time, heh
I tried increasing the timeout value to 999, but it still does the same thing.
Any suggestions?

I had the same issue.
I found my problem was that I was trying to install too much at once. Try only installing a maximum of 20-30 games at a time. I made the mistake of trusting someone with access to the TAR directory on FTP and they uploaded about 1000 games all at once, and when i went to install them my server just couldn't handle installing so many games all in one go.
Also, this may sound stupid, once you have the game installed delete the tar file from your TAR folder in your FTP, this keeps everything running nice and smooth and quick...
Just one other thing, having one corrupt tar file in your list can stop the entire list from installing.
Hope this helps :)

Hey just saw your post and was wondering how you uploaded files to the tar archive?
I downloaded the files untarred them and added them to the tar file of my website using ftp but they're not showing up in the tar archive in the forum control panel. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
