What is it ?
It's a gallery - what do you think ?

Why another Gallery ? There is no gallery, it can do all the things you need. Categories and Images, every gallery can do, but ...
... does anotherone have passwords for categories or let a category visible at a certain time ? Which gallery supports
Medias ? JPG, GIF and PNG are standard - but what happend with APE, ASF, ASX, DIVX, AVI, MIDI, MP3, MPG, SWF, FLV ... ? or what happends with Links (Videos) ?
No Problem for the Ultimate Media Gallery ! approx. 20 Medias + approx. 20 URLs are supported. The best to it, all in the forums - no external player.
My thanks goes to @nix (Goldbrick) for his permission to use some parts of his Mod.

Categories, Media, Comments and also the Searchfunction works for permission. Which may not be seen, e.g. with the search one does not found.
The gallery is not integrated in the forum like many different - from performance reasons. The number of Queries per side is on the average with approx. 10-12.

Question: Will it work under vBulletin 3.8 ?
Answer: Yes, it will.

Question: Is there a Converter for Photopost or Photoblog ?
Answer: Yes, there is.

Question: I have Photopost or/and Photopog runinng. Must I deinstall both or one of them ?
Answer: Definately NO. You can run all three MODs (in UMG you can get a Javascript-Error if Photopost running) - but that's all.

Question: Are there modules for vBadvanced.
Answer: Yes, there are. And also the same modules for vBCMS.

Question: In a Gallery it shows me 0 Hits or no Thumbnail ...
Answer: The Hits, Thumbnails, eg. will shown the Category itself. You have some Child-Categories inside your Category.

Change the Imagecheck. Example: If you change an PNG into JPG, it will now saved as an JPG.
new PRO-AddOn: Forum Attachments can now a Categorie in a private Gallery.

Fix a bug in Installation. You need to uninstall, then reinstall with this new product, only if you haven't any Mediatypes or UMG Permissions (see in you AdminCP -> UMG)

In the Structure, simply click on a Category and you wil see the options

Coroner, very happy with this so far, great work.

Two things:

I have set up a public gallery and set permissions for guests to view images. It shows the main category (inc the thumbnail on the index) but cannot seem to view images in sub categories?
The permisions look ok that have been set but on the sub category, the option for unregistered and guests cannot be checked on the radio button? Any ideas?

Also, Ecards are disallowed but with permissions it still shows the option and on clicking it, it gives this error:

Thanks, and sorry for seeming impatient, I just thought the process would be automatic. I have downloaded and installed the files, but I cannot get into the umg.php - I get the vbulleting default page telling me I do not have permission to access the page.

The product installed just fine and I can see the settings in the admincp, and I have turned the gallery on, but I still cannot access it at all. Also, in the documentation, it shows a "permissions" page with a bunch of options, but I do not see that page in the admincp anywhere. The only "permissions" page I see is for moderators, super moderators, and administrators - Am I missing files?

I have problems with people posting info with pics and then two months later they delete them in Photobucket and now I have dead links.

I want to be able to manage them so that they cannot delete them.

I've tested all of the converters - and all will work.

It does not work. I ran vbgallery_2_umg.php after re-uploading all files fresh, reimporting fresh and chmodding 777 the gallery folder. I did not get an error during the import process, but it still does not work. No photos show up in each category. No stats.

The import did show the category structure and end with the "finish" in the link, on last step.

I have the pro version installed and running on my site - It works great, but I just downloaded the latest version 1.4.6 and now the "latest" thumbnails no longer show on the main gallery page - I have/had them set up correctly as they worked just fine in the old version. Also, I imported the UMG in profilefield product, but that does not seem to work either. The user's profiles that have images in the gallery do not look any different than before the installation. I checked your site to see how the feature worked, but it does not appear to be working on your site either, nor do the thumbnails appear on the main gallery page of your site either.

Is there missing code in the new version? An oversight perhaps?

Also, it would be great to have the ability for members to be able to link to ALL the images they have uploaded from their signature, or to simply provide other users with a link to perform this task. For example, let's say I have uploaded 150 images total and have 30 images in five different categories, but I wanted to have a link in my signature to direct people to ALL my images in a gallery layout - Could you add this feature? I am aware that you can do a search for a members media, and also you can click the link from the member list t see all the members media, but the URL that the link outputs does not function the same when used as an external URL link as it does when you click on it from within the gallery itself. This seems like it would be a simple thing to figure out, but I simply do not know how to do it.

5 categories. (2 for pictures, 2 for videos, 1 for both). None of them are nested, all top level categories.

Just realised I hadn't set permissions up to allow you access. I've done that now. You can upload ( <5mb ) to the public gallery if you want to check what happens.

I didn't realize it created an additional custom usergroup. I kept deleting that usergroup. It appears to work now but it won't let me create a public gallery category though. It makes it private.

Go into the UserCP (umg).
Do you have two links of "Categories" ?

to do this, you need to store all the informations (and this could be a lot) into the database.

Fixed my issue. I'm officially a noob. The media type I was uploading was not enabled for the group. By default the group is only given 3 media types instead of all of them?? Maybe this should be changed to enable all by default?? May be a good reason not to though!

The uploads column on the home page is showing double the actual. If I have one image/media file it shows "2" uploads. If I have two it shows "4" uploads.

Also, the Gallery statistics at the bottom are blank. They were working but no they are not!?

I'm going to reinstall, it's just not working right. I can no longer administer any categories, images etc etc. I've checked permissions but something is off. When I go to Administration - Categories it opens and shows the public categories. At the top however it says Private categories (which I have disabled for everyone). All it will let me do is edit existing categories, from the admincp or anywhere. Have tried reinstalling the product, but no change. :-(

Wow, I've messed with this for a few hours and it's seems to be just full of bugs on my site.

1. Statistics at the bottom of the page works 5-10% of the time
2. Administer (add specifically) Categories function is intermittent to never working.
3. Some media files (wmv for sure) don't expand to the full size of the window so appear squashed.

I'm happy to work with you Coroner to resolve these issues, because I really like this product. Right now though, I can't let me users loose on it.

Is the Pro version any more stable, because it's worth the €44 if it works!

You can upload any supported type of media onto you server (forum) and insert into the UMG by a link.

and change the path for your folder.

The TABLE_PREFIX for photophost will set into the "config-inc.php" of photopost.
I don't know how you fixed the error above.

You can use the converter (it will copy all images into the umg_folder/images/../ folder).

Simply, choose Categories - click on the category you will delete (edit) - mark the checkbox delete
and send the form.

Different to other galleries:
Users can create their own categories (with permission) - that's a "private" gallery.

confused, I have uploaded all the files that came with the UMG v1.4.5 Lite to there correct location and checked the permissions for each group and made sure my Admin account has all permissions but when trying to goto the umg.php all I get is Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I have checked and all of the files are in the correct location and the Gallery active and Enable External Javascript is selected. This is a new Forum running 3.8.1 and this should be running fine. Is there another Mod I should have installed that is not in documentation?

I'm also confused about "permissions". Here's what I have so far:

Category Structure

UK Pre-Certs
- Collectable Pre-Cert Scans
- The Video Nasties
- Tabloid Press - Video Nasty Hysteria!
- UK Magazine Ads + Trade Related Scans

How do I set each category for viewing by registered users and admins only? Presently these have a mixture of permissions and I'm very confused as to why this is? The area I need to select in each category I am unable to tick.

In UserCP, simply click on categories, click on the category you want to change and set the new permission, but remeber ... permissions are inherit to sub/child categories.
You have to change the "main" categorie 1st

Yet when I try to set the permissions on the sub galleries I do not get the option to select these - for example, in the sub gallery "UK Magazine Ads + Trade Related Scans" all I can select are:

When I now create a new category and choose as main "RA", it shows me:

Well I tryed again by uninstalling this mod and reinstalling it. Still only getting Explorer cannot display the webpage. No other error msg. Almost like the umg.php file isn't their but it's on the root of the server where my index.php is. All permissions are set to alow bolth with UMG and Usergroups. Again no other Gallery mod is installed on this forum other then the built in vB 3.8.1 User Albums. This should have been a simple install & running. Also I did Not recive any errors when I Imported Product and it imported correctly.

No, there are no database errors. I converted at least 4 times and no problems....

If you don't know I am ok just calling it quits, but just thought you might have an idea.

I can't add public categories when I click on admin -> categories. I've juste category structure.

When I tried to rebuild thunbails form the admin menu, even when putting 2 per cycle I was getting a database error (which probably has to do with the load of the server)

So I thought of making another attempt to convert but noticed it duplicates categories and now cant see a way how to delete all media and restart converting again (from phtoplog).

Last but not least where can someone pay for the PRO version

Error 500 - I think it's server timeout.

Which database error you get ? If this error comes "after a while" of rebuilding - you can start it again (see the browsers address and substract 1 of the number.

When converting, you can set "Delete all existing Categories".

No, when you "delete all categories" - only UMG categories will deleted. I don't delete some files or database entries from photoplog/photopost.

If it's the same format as AVI it works - but I think "Matroska" isn't AVI compatible.

Was könnte dies ein. Ich nehme an die erste Meldung ist weil der Server keine Grösseren Dateien zulässt. aber wieso kommt der Parse Error ?

Wie viele Kategorien kann man bei der Lite version haben ? Nur 5 ?
Was kostet die Vollversion und wo kann ich sie beziehen ?

I think you didn't upload the "umg_gallery" folder. inside is the umg_functions.php

Installed and uploaded images with no problem but when I upload Media(video) I get an error telling me they are to big. Went into admincp change setting for the size of media and I am still getting the error. No matter How high I take the setting its the same thing.

Anything else I need to change?

I installed this and set all usergroups to be able to create a private gallery. Yet when I login and look at the gallery page, I see no option to create a private gallery.

No, you can't. This is required in the whole gallery.

User can't block an Admin. That means, they can block the Usergroup "Administrators", but ...
... UMG uses own Admin/Mod Rights and User's CAN NOT block those groups *g

Well, what it is doing is confusing my users. They see the options to select usergroups and do not really know what to do.

This usergroup is Admin in the UMG (and NOT the usergroup administrators).

Now, users can block administrators, but NOT "tech administrators"
