No changes since the version for vB3.7 - the package is the same
;) Description:
With this modification the starter of a thread will be highlighted in his posts/replies by a small text or/and a graphic. This has the for example the advantage that you also know on page 2,3,4,5,... who has started the thread.
Secondary this mod still has many other options, so that you should be able to customize this mod like you wish.

FAQ:
Does this mod also highlight posts that were posted before installing this mod?
Of course.
This mod doesn't highlight the first post. Why?
In my opinion it is completely unnecessary to highlight the first post as threadstarter. Everybody knows that the person that created the first post is automatically the threadstarter.
I want to highlight the threadstarter next to the post counter (or everywhere else)
Also this isn't a big problem with this mod. You have only to select the following setting:
Highlight Threadstarter -> Choose the Display Location of this mod -> Own Display Location via Hook
And add the variable $threadauthor at the place you desire (in the template postbit / postbit_legacy).
Example: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1723764&postcount=12

@rob1:
There can be the following reasons for your problem:
- The style that you are using doesn't support the template hook(s) that this add-on needs - maybe because there are too many changes in this style. Please try a standard style if it is working there.
- You are searching the threadstarter highlight at the first post - the first post will not be highlighted...

it depends on which display location you have selected.
Under the usertitle: mod searches $template_hook['postbit_userinfo_left'] in your 'postbit'/'postbit_legacy' Template and adds the threadstarter highlight there.
Under the Post Counter in the Userinfo: mod searches $template_hook['postbit_userinfo_right_after_posts'] in your 'postbit'/'postbit_legacy' Template and adds the threadstarter highlight there.

Does this work with existing threads...adding the text/image to the OP of those threads already on your board?

I have it isnstalled and it seems to be working, but doesn't register for the initial post...only subsequent posts.
I see you hae three examples on where to put this Threadstarter info. I don't want it under the usertitle, or under post counts. I want it in the other location...next to the post #.
Whar edits do I have to make to have it show there?

Do you want to highlight the initial post? Normally it isn't a bug, but a feature. :D

Options -> Highlight Threadstarter -> Choose the Display Location of this mod -> Own Display Location via Hook
Template postbit
Search for:<div class="normal" style="float:$stylevar[right]">
Add underneath:$threadauthor

@Burito:
i have already developed a version 3 that can this... But the code was a bit "dirty".
I also didn't find a way to make the code better... :(
So at last i decided to not release this version, only because of its coding. This should be a small modification that doesn't increase the loading time.
I hope you unterstand. ;)

Hmmm clicking on Edit Phrase in the settings does not do anything?
Also, is there a way to change the size and style of the actual text?
Thanks!
