I haven't looked at the rules in the graphic database. I'm sure providing screenshots is advised though. Wouldn't it be best to enforce this as a rule? I looked at several threads with members frustrated at not having screenshots to view what the graphics are like before they download.
Edit: I glanced at the guidelines and it doesn't state anywhere that screenshots should be provided or atleast advised.
edit: Actually it does. Previews should be posted it states.

It'd be absurd to enforce this. I agree, it's a bit silly posting up a graphic and requiring the user to download and open it in an image viewer. But, if they can't be bothered to do it, that's their choice :)

Demos are a must.
Or people will have like 200 downloads and 3 installs... makes you wonder, huh?

Authors may provide a screenshot if they want, but we are not going to force them. The important thing is the release of the Style/Modification and we are not going to put up artificial rules that might reduce the number of works released.

Users should vote with their mouse. Do what I do, no screenshot, no download.

I know you can't force people. Which is why I questioned myself after creating this thread. You answer on the other hand (which is why we will always disagree) is you condone sloppy posting while I prefer quality informative content which members understand and can see before downloading.
I guess when paul stated about bandwidth issues regarding PSD you never thought that a screenshot could save a huge amount of bandwidth if the user knew what they were downloading. Having to download a graphic set to view is wasteful and not very efficient.
If you don't care, why should contributors care on how they post even at the expense of bandwidth and members not receiving enough information.
Anyhow, quantity over quality never was my way of thinking.

At no point have I ever mentioned bandwidth issues.

Not directly, indirectly you were worried about large attachments.

I worry about the size of attachments on my site - not because of bandwidth, but because of space.

You see, here we go again. We're going around in circles. Again. Your entitled to your opinion, nobody can take that away from you. I'm merely showed the inconsistencies between what marco said in this thread and what paul stated in the other thread. Space and bandwidth on your server is a far cry from the space and bandwidth on jelsofts servers.
I guess we're all worried, which is why we try to optimize our products best we can to cater for the people that pay the bills on this resource site.
Like I said, a screenshot in a graphic submitted thread is something that should be present in all graphic releases to show the member what they are downloading. Maybe i didn't say that, but i should of.

*Sigh*
Questioning large attachments has nothing to do with bandwidth considerations, and no where in this thread has Marco even mentioned it, so how could there be an inconsistancy ??
The question has been answered, and we cant be bothered with your desire to argue with us again. Closed.
