Was curious which one most of you guys prefer. I'm leaning towards one myself, but I'd like to see what others think of them.

Which one do you guys think is the better purchase?

Not sure but i don't think these are even similar.

Well - the idea behind them is both the same. They both have the ability to have an Article system. Since no one will make a real article system for vb3.7+ it's down to these two folks and tweaking it to work as needed.

and tweaking it to work as needed.

I admit that I have limited experience of Advanced Forums but "tweaking" is where I believe that GARS is a much better system, I run GARS on my sites for the following:

1) Classifieds System with paypal integration
2) Articles System
3) Reviews System

Each area has an entirely different template and also have a whole raft of sub sections each of which have their own custom fields and searches.

Out of the box GARS had 95% of what I wanted to do, the remainder was just template changes and configuration. I have not needed to touch any of the code base at all, every single time I have thought "it would be cool if I could do......" I have then discovered that GARS could do it and typically better than my original idea.

Do you mind sharing a link to your articles system?

Anyone else have any opinions on this? Seriously, only 3 votes including my own?

these are two different kind of scripts, not related... but personally, i would suggest Gio's engine is you do not need a complex script that have no more support and no more advanced upgrades... TheGeek's stuff is becoming outdated and will not be that much compatible with 3.8.0..

Thanks! The main thing that I'm looking at is that they both give the ability for an "Articles" forum.
