Dear all,

This modification helps you to add picture to each section in your forum --

For example

You have three sections in your forum

1- Sports
2- Medical news
3- discussion and feed back

You can for each section one picture indicate for your forum

Please see this example in attach

The steps:

1- Open the template: forumhome_forumbit_level1_post

Search for:

$forum[imageprefix]forum_$forum[statusicon].gif

replace with

$forumid.gif

2- Open the template: forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

Search for:

$forum[imageprefix]forum_$forum[statusicon].gif

Replace with

$forumid.gif

And save both templates

- Please upload your pic to statusicon folder in your default style or your style

- This depend on your formid number

== For example your forum sport have id # 2 then you save the ball pic like (2.gif)

= check what your forum id and save each picture for each forum id

Thank you

You can do this with the $forum[imageprefix] that you deleted from the original template without making any modifications. You could even have "old" and "new" versions so people are notified visually when there are new posts in a forum.

Is there a more detailed guide as to how one can use that?

Thanks

Is there is a little guide for this, it would be very helpful.

What code would there need to be?

You can find that here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114545

I use it on my forum....

Right-click on the X, properties..

Will show you where the image SHOULD be located.. then go check and fix :)

If it is in the right spot, then it would have to be permissions..

Cheers,
Dave

Great idea, how could this be achieved?

Very useful. Only problem is that I can't get subforums to work.
