Cyb - PM System Enhancements

Info:
This enhances your Private Messages system:
-PM Menu in NavBar PM stats
-Advanced unread PM(s) notification
-"Reply To All" option in messages which was sent to multiple recipients
-Option to completely disable Signatures in PMs
-Options to change NewPM form checkboxes defaults

All features can be enabled/disabled in hack settings.

See screenshots.


Installation:
1. Import XML file as product: AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]


To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - PM System Enhancements

Installed & love it, but it looks like if you use Quick Reply, it automatically chooses to Reply All. We've turned that off for now, but other features are working.

Hi,

great, installed it. But I have a little question. I tried it in out test forum and everything is perfect (see pic 3).

But in our "real" forum there seems to be an error when a new message is in the pm box (see pic 2). The text is missing. If there's no new message, it's al right (see pic 1).

Any ideas??

I have disabled the mod and the error appears to have stopped..

V3.8.1 with various mods..

Any ideas please?

"this.controlobj" is null or not an object.

btw Im using vB 3.8.1, and IE7. it works great with vB 3.7.4 though.

Quick question.
Product is installed, but not functioning the way you describe.

When I receive a PM, I do not get a flashing red "Unread 1" text is flashing link your screenshot shown here:

Instead, I get the "Your Notifications" text, in red, NOT flashing, as in the attached screenshot.

Is something mis-configured on my end?

Blinking works fine here in Firefox and IE, not in Safari. What's your browser?

Screenshots was made with older vB version where 'Your notifications' was not there.

After watching it for a while, I can see the "Your Notifications" text flicker very slightly every once in a while, but it's not a noticeable blinking like your example.

Just checked in Firefox 2.0 and it does flash in that browser,,, but not in IE 7.

This is a weird problem - The dropdown arrow appears twice on forumhome, but not on any other page. I can't duplicate the problem on vbtest or localhost. I've been using this mod for a long time and I don't recall seeing the double arrow until recently.

I did uninstall and reinstall this mod recently, due to another problem I was having (which I created) with Paul M's "Unread Posts" mod. That problem has been resolved.

Cyb, any idea what could be causing this or what I could do to correct it? As I mentioned un/reinstalling doesn't fix it.

EDIT: ry215's Sidebar Column hack is what causes the double dropdown arrow; turning the "User Column" off solves the problem.

Excellent product. We operate a large BF2 mod website, and have a decent sized team of Devs. Would it be possible to integrate or get a seperate addon for vB 3.8 that would facilitate a 'status' or AFK system, that would block users PMing Devs who they do not know are AFK for weekes/months?

I know there is a facility for users to turn off their PMs and only receive PMs etc from admins and mods, but the end-user is not notified of why the Dev has decided not to receive PMs for that duration. An editible reason from within the AdminCP , for set usergroup IDs would be excellent! Too much? :D

I would be most interested to hear if there is any possible solution to the quick-reply-all issue that has been mentioned above. This is an excellent, dare I say, indispensable mod but I have had a couple of instances recently where the reply-all has been inadvertently used by members from a message originally cc'd around and which has caused some rather unfortunate "politics".

Is it possible to turn quick reply off in PMs only and is that a work around to this problem - ie "Reply" itself works as expected (reply only to immediate last sender) but quick reply works like "reply-to-all" in the header ?

Love your work Cyb; hope you are still able to be supporting this excellent product of yours!

First step to improve this slightly - I have put a warning up in the template which tells users that PM Quick Reply is a Reply-To-All...

The template is pm_showpm

I've reproduced it here with the small text amendment I made in red.

If you have the Legacy post-bit option enabled i found this broke the layout in the PM system,, this was a simple work-around though in the "Legacy Postbit Option" plugin. i added the following:

I'm late to the game here, but just wanted to say this post solved my issues with this plugin. I had quickly disabled and left it for a month or two until I just now saw this reply. I don't know how I missed it before, I thought I read all replies hoping for a fix.

Obviously it would be best to have to have users consciously click "reply to all" to use the feature. I can only imagine the damage that could be done with all the CCing that goes on with mods and users to me and back.

So, I've used this fix, then changed it so that if there are multiple recipients, the quick reply title text changes.

From:

To:
$vbphrase[quick_reply] <if condition="$ccrecipients"> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Replies to sender ONLY. If replying to multiple recipients, use "Reply to All" link above.</if>
