The drop down is only effective for board with a limited amount of forums. Please consider to add a forum overview trough YUI treeview (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/treeview/).

Thanks Cyb! Sweet mod!

One question: I'm using vB v3.6.x and installed THIS file (the one from this thread). Is there any kind of problem with that?

Thank you so very much!

OOOps...! Sorry for the flood...! :eek:

It is NOT working... :(

(it saves the settings on the admincp menu, but the hack does NO effect on newbies...)

It only worked when all setting were on default values... :mad: :(

*** UPDATE ***

ARRGH!!! I.E. just sucks!!! Pressed CTRL+F5 and the problem is solved...! yuck!

Thanks for this coolness!

Is there a way to only enable this for certain forums and then to only select specified forums from the dropdown?

I can't believe this is not used more. This is excellent.

I also like the idea above.

After I installed this, it wont show the forums or the dropdown list, only the description.
I have tried it on all for styles, and on the standard style too.

If your Forum Jump Menu is disabled, try enabling it. That worked for me. :)

If you want only selected forums affected try:

This step only addresses which forums are affected when creating a new thread. It does not affect the forums listed in the Jump Menu.

Go into Plugin Manager --> Cyb - Prevent Newbies from Posting to Wrong Forum - MN (newthread_start)

Find:

if (($vbulletin->options['cyb_preventnewthread_pcneeded'] > $vbulletin->userinfo['posts']) AND is_member_of($vbulletin->userinfo, split(',', $vbulletin->options['cyb_preventnewthread_affectedgroups'])) AND ($vbulletin->GPC['fcon']!=1) AND ($_REQUEST['do']!='postthread'))

and Replace it with:

if (($vbulletin->options['cyb_preventnewthread_pcneeded'] > $vbulletin->userinfo['posts']) AND is_member_of($vbulletin->userinfo, split(',', $vbulletin->options['cyb_preventnewthread_affectedgroups'])) AND ($vbulletin->GPC['fcon']!=1) AND ($_REQUEST['do']!='postthread') AND in_array($forumid, array(x,y,z)))

Where "x,y,z" are replace it with your Forum ID's that you want affected. To add more forums just separate the ID's with a comma. See if that works. :)
