View Full Version : How to make a section of a post visible only for members ?

Hi All,

Is there a way/mod that can make a section of a post visible only for members ?

I mean, the guests should be able to view the posts, but a particular section of post should be hidden and a message should be displayed "Please Register & Login to view this part of posting."

If they login to the forum, then they should be able to view all the information of posts normally.

Specify 'a particular section'.

I suppose you could use a plugin over the post data parsing that takes the post and only returns a certain amount of characters if the user isn't logged in.

For example, if I use BB code :
[HIDDENTEXT] [/HIDDENTEXT ]

Then, while I make posting, Whatever data I put between these tags will not be visible for guests.

I guess there should be a mod for that. I have seen similar one in IPB.

specifikly this command -- > [SHOWTOGROUPS]: defines the usergroups that may read the content within.

seen this around the net, especially gameing sites,
requireing me to register to see whats inside the tags..
u can always change the names ;) after all its just enhanced bb codes.
