New Generation of vBulletin's Advertisement Systems

In the Internet world, advertisements had a special place, because of than we see most of Internet web sites have assign special sectors of their pages to this affair, so I thought to design this system for vBulletin with a new idea, of course.

What is my purpose of angular?
I choose 'angular' prefix for this system, because general purpose of Angular Advertisement System is display some information in each fourth angles of the screen with a fixed position, so vBulletin's administrators may use this system to display important advertisements, notices, thoughts and etc to users by a powerful inform way.

What are features of Angular Advertisement System?

Perfect integrating with vBulletin and ability to integrate with third-party scripts

Easily styling the advertisement to be displayed via Advertisements Manager panel without need to additional tools

Prenotion: This modification work with vBulletin 3.8.0 and also vBulletin 3.7.x
Upload the files in the upload folder to your vBulletin root.
Import the 'angular_advertisements.xml' via Product Manager system.Notes:
If you have changes on default vBulletin's directory names, please attention to upload each file to pertain location.
Make sure that 'images/angularadvertisement' directory is writeable by your host (CHMOD 777), of course if you would like to upload images for Angular Advertismenets.Congratulation, you are successfully installed Angular Advertisements system on your board.

You may place your advertisement on these angles:

Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right
Top-Left, Top-Right

Of course this hack include some other features for styling and displaying the advertisement that you can see this features in these screenshots:

Because of I put some qualification on show the advertisements (or each item) to users, but if I want to reply to your question about features I may say these:

Through features which you hint to those, display Ads after X posts and displaying Ads at Archive is observe now but other features not spot yet for this system but at next version I will add some more features, of course after finish of my college exams :D

Note that now in this system conflict not allowed (not randomly displaying ads) and priority of displaying is by dateline (time of add advertisement to system), but don't worry because of I will better this sufficiency in the next release.

You may make it with apply a number between 1 to 100 for Transparency (Blur) field on advertisement manager (rather between 60 to 90 of course for have this scheme did you see in the screenshot that I attacheted for hack), in addition to display container as a bar you may enter 100% for width field.

For 'Contents' field you may put this or the same:

It's mean you may set a text for Contents field to understand the problem.

Also after installed the hack, in vBulletin forum home view the Source Code (through Right Click on page and click View Page Source) and search for follow term:

If this not exist in the page source code will that mean the auto-template function could not done for style.

Thanks for this Mod again. The top-right and the top-right does work on the defauly vb style. It does not work however using the bottom-right and bottom left the the default vb style. It did not work also on my other customised styles.

Any idea of how to rectify this?.

I think that parameters who I used for replacement in template not exists on your style and for escape from this problem you may add those parameters (who I said already) to the templates that called on before post of me.

I have a question from you, now is hack installed on your board? Because when I try to find angular css on the source of your forum (that place on your signature) I not found anything.

I used a CSS to keep advertisement at fixed position and I never used any JavaScript code for it.

It is a different advertisement method whom you saw already. On current version include these:

Yes, this is possible. You may check the User is not logged in (Guest) qualification of the ADS.

Why do you insert you html after <!-- logo --> instead prepending header postbit at start? If it's necessary for some reasons, could you add option to disable autotemplates? It's not a problem to insert code via TMS in proper place for each skin.

Fully agree with redlabour - listed options are a must for pro-level adserver for vB :)
I will also continue looking into this mod, also due to the fact that 4.x/5.x versions of vB Ad Mngnt hack is unusable for me.

It's on Administrator Permissions panel from Admincp, it's probably last option on that page.

I have done a minor change to your fantastic work...just added the possibility to manage the ads by date.

A new condition can be applied to ads in order to check for valid dates.

I have made changes to the following files:

- admincp/angadver.php
- includes/functions_angadver.php

The product installer (angular_advertisements.xml) is also modified in order to create the language variable for the new managed condition.

Please, feel free to use it/distribute it if you find it useful...

In actually when you have used an link for the advertisement, when you have click on the advertisement image you will direct to that link. (Please notation that you have only used the link feature when you have an image for advertisement)

For this problem (I used a CSS hack to do this) while on IE7 fixed position attribute supported but in version 1.0 of Angular Advertisement modification due to a worthless problem it will used the CSS hack method, of course in the next version I solved it but I can't released it now, so please wait for the next version :up:

Is it possible to have this on a rotational basis, I don't want 4 advertisements in every corner, just 1 advertisement in whatever corner I choose. I would though like to be able to run say for example 20 different advertisements which are chosen randomly from the active list of advertisements I have set in the admin panel.

I had this working perfectly on 3.7
I upgraded to 3.8, upgraded our templates too. None of the modified templates were altered when I went back to look at them, and they all still had the Angular Ads mods. My question is;

Is there any other mods that have to be performed, or do I have to install the addon again when upgrading.

Currently this is not possible, but as same as I said before, in the next version this will possible to do.

Can you please consider:
- option to make add visible only for one member (for test purposes) It can be done via a new usergroup but it would be easyer with one member. Like if a user wants to buy a add like this I can show to him how it looks.
- the option to show add to one user just one time or a limited number of times in a session (like show this add X times / log in session)
- adds rotation will be great too
- adds by date from here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1775354&postcount=77) is very good idea also

I feel shame :S I'm using almost 50+ modifications without any problem yet I can't find the Administrator Permission Panel in my Admin CP!

In your admin cp, expand the Usergroup settings, and you'll find your "Administrator permissions" there. Edit your admin permissions, and choose "Yes" to allow administer angular advertisement.

I tried it on 4.0 RC4, it installed fine and I can setup it up and all.. but it won't display advertisment on board.. So, not sure if it works on vB4... but works great on my 3.8

BTW, I didn't get the last two options there.. could you give example of action(s) please?
