Hi Dan,

To install your menu tabs

Open the HTML code in notebook so you can edit it

Look for this

background:url("tableft10.gif") no-repeat left top;

Replace the tableft10.gif with the location (Full url) of your uploaded tableft10.gif

next find

background:url("tabright10.gif") no-repeat right top;

Replace the tabright10.gif with the location (Full url) of your uploaded tabtabright10.gif

and finally go right to the end and find the menu links

<li id="current"><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/topsite/"><span>Forums Topsite</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/forum/group.php?"><span>Social Groups</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/forum/online.php?"><span>Who's Online</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://astore.amazon.co.uk/ukbuli-21"><span>UKBL Bookstore</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/forum/usercp.php"><span>Your CP</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/forum/memberlist.php"><span>Member List</span></a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/"><span>UK Business Live</span></a></li>

Then basically change the url in the demo to one that you want to link too, and name it within the two <span>

If you want to add more tabs just copy another line like this

<li><a href="http://www.ukbusinesslive.co.uk/"><span>UK Business Live</span></a></li>

Thats it :D

Enjoy:up:

Great work, but I also think you should give some credit to the original CSS menu designer. I see most of the menus used here are from exploding-boy menu sets

Hi Valdet, Thanks for the heads up, The CD that had all the Tabs and designs didn't have any copyright or author attached, and staes that the designs are royalty free. I have over 1000 Different Designs

I've see the above site and they are the same, I've emailed him and asked if they are his or if he obtained them elsewhere, Either way if i can find out who designed them i will gladly give Credit where its due. Like wise if anyone notices a similarity with any of the designs please let me know so i can add the designer to the tabs, after all its thanks to them that we have such great designs

I don't think royalty free necessarily means you can release them. I think it means you can use them for your own sites. But anyway, I think valdet is talking about the code to the easy menu tabs being someone elses and uncredited.

Nice looking tabs and excellently documented btw.

Thanks Punchbowl, Still waiting on the email from the guy, if they are his and i can share them then by all means his name will go up in lights ;)

The code to the menu tabs are all different dependant on what design you have, thats why i need to treat each one individually. Just need to make sure they are his for definate and he just didn't get them from a source and claim them as his own.

This is something i feel quite strongly about and would never claim to own something that was not mine. Hopefully we'll get the guys name up and give them the credit for their design and code. :)

Hi Valdet,

Just recieved an email from the tab designer,

Gerry,

Thanks for the kind words regarding the menus I created. You are more than
welcome to use the menus for any way you see fit. You don't have to credit
me in any way...unless you just want to. I'm glad you found some good use
for them.

Just going to add his credit to the post, as anyone that helps the VBulletin Community is a credit to themselves :D

Thanks again for the Heads up

Thanks for the awesome article.

I would like to implement one of these tab styles on my vBulletin 4 site, but I still need a bit more infor before I start hacking!

As I am happy to relpace the existing vBulletin navbar with your buttons, does that mean I would create a completely new navbar in the AdminCP/Styles & Templates/Download Upload Styles section? Or do I go into the AdminCP/Styles & Templates/Add New Template?

Once I have that out of the road, is it a matter of making this new template the default?

As you can probably tell I'm struggling, so any more detail on what to do would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance,

KR
