View Full Version : Moderators Functions - Change Threads' Prefix Inline

Milad

Brought to you by Milad?s vBulletin Services (http://services.milado.net/)

Introduction & Description:
It is difficult to change threads' prefixes, thread by thread, the editing process of each thread to change the prefix is inappropriate and it takes a long time.
This product allows you to set a prefix to multiple threads inline, using the moderation drop-down menu in forum display page (see the screen shoot). you will save your time and effort.

Features:

One-click mass thread prefix changing (You can select a prefix in the drop down menu and apply the change instantly to many threads).
Remove prefix: works only if prefixes are not required in the current forum.
All changes are logged in the Moderator Log.

How to use?
It works exactly like closing, opening, sticking or unsticking multiple threads inline.

Limitation:
You can't change threads' prefix across forums. any selected threads from forums different from the current one, will be ignored.
This is because of vBulletin currently aren't able to check against the validity of a prefix for a given forum.

Installation & Upgrade: 3.8.0 beta 4 at least is required.
One step! Import the product file product-threadprefix_changeinline.xml and you're done.
Choose yes to overwrite for upgrading.

Thanks for the update to a 3.8.x release.

I had also been receiving the same error messages after upgrading my board and spend ages scratching my head because another of my mods was also using hooks in the same places as this mod.

Mine was working, and now it's not. How can I figure out a conflicting mod? Also, if there is another mod conflicting, is this resolvable? I really wanted to use this.

Using 3.8.1

Milad

See what hacks use the same hooks as this hack.

Teresa
02-21-2009, 10:07 PM
How do I do that?

Teresa
02-21-2009, 10:14 PM
Found it:

vBulletin Blog (can't remember the sequence of installing this) 2.0.1 Patch Level 1
Separate Sticky and Normal Threads (which was there when it worked)
AutoPm on Thread Moderation (which was there when it worked)

Nevermind. It was a style issue. Thanks.

Just FYI, for me, I had an old FORUMDISPLAY template that needed the new hook added. This took me a while to track down, so I thought I'd share.

Great Mod!

Anyway, is there a possibility to have this inline mod also in a single thread?
Would be really cool to quick-edit the current thread-prefix.

lim(x?-5x?) = ∞
03-13-2009, 05:37 PM
is it possible to do this with tags?

Thanks for this - great mod

Just a note - I had to create a phrase myself to avoid

Could not find phrase 'inline_prefix_changed'

I cant work out why its trying to call this phrase, and not redirect_inline_prefix_changed

Running 3.8.1 PL1 here...

This might be the wrong place to ask so please excuse me in advance. I've installed this Mod and it works great. One question I have is does anyone know if, or how, I can restrict the prefixes so that only Admins and/or Mods can actually see them ?

I'd like to have threads in a forum prefixed/tagged but I don't want the general users to see the prefixes.

It only works in a category, but canĀ“t i change the prefix in a thread?

Am I allowed to publish the German translation?

Milad
07-01-2009, 03:37 PM
As a language file yes, with full credits to me.
Publish the xml file as it is + your own language file, so users has to import the product, then import your language file.

Here is the German translation: 101356

Thread prefixes are a built in part of vBulletin 3.8... You create them in your Admin CP. This mod doesn't create thread prefixes it only allows you to change them.

Like, when someone is viewing the thread who has permission to change prefix, and is posting reply from quick reply/normal reply, they have option to change prefix there, too? Thx if possible :D
