With those stats, How many are friends, relatives or people you bribed to post to get those stats up. How long did it take to get to that amount of posts?

Often than not, those kind of stats can be associated with people you know though this might be one of the few exceptions.

Do they seem okay for what? I mean, they are numbers, so what is it you are wanting them to 'say'?

For a forum that's 3 months old, yes they are great.

For a forum that is 4 years old, not so good.

It's all relative. If you're happy with the numbers, you're doing a good job! :)

They are busy THREADS thats a fact !

We have been going 8 months , with

460 members
5300 threads
78,000 posts

so at the rate your going your gonna hit a million posts with 500 threads and less than 500 people :)

I hope you have a good backup strategy in place. Growing fast is great, but it has it's own set of problems also.

(I didn't realize the site was only three months old - that's a lot of posts!)

One of the other sites about the same subject opened before us, and had about 30,000 posts less than us last I checked

Your Openmike seems to be disproportionately large at 64,000 posts

I was about to say the same thing. most of the responses are basically spam. one word replies to somehow, boost statistics which is not a good thing. Quality over quantity any day of the week and nothing less accepted.

Totally agree, implementing a minimum word count helps.

Smilie replies annoy the crap out of me.

We never have had just smilie replies.

To elaborate on the comment, you might as well allow smiley only posting, because one word replies is just as bad and doesn't help the quality of the site. Maybe on the odd occasions, it's fine but you have so many one word replies and a staff member replying one post after another (and to assume) to boost the posting stats where using quotes would have sufficed in a single post rather than spreading it out to 3-4 posts.

When it's all said and done, don't worry about numbers and concentrate on the quality content because when all said and done, noone will stick around and read one word jargon replies.

Have to agree with the posted above, your Open Mike section is quite..full..if it wasnt for your Open Mike posts, you'd probably have less than 10,000 posts. Its not a terrible thing, however you may want to ween your members away from that area, or else you might was well have your site be openmikeforum.com

We are trying but they love Open Mike. If we take it away, half of our members will quit

of the 74,000+ posts, 69,487 are located in the chat threads. thats what..90%+ ?

if you are happy with a chat forum, then great, but it doesnt seem like people are discussing your website's main purpose which appears to be web skins?

maybe start by explaining what the heck a webkinz is? i have no idea. if your site explained it better, maybe I'd be interested.....but after spending a decent amount of time on your site, i couldnt figure it out, so I left.

I looked at your site a little further and you basically have a chat forum. so to answer your question, am I doing ok, I'll say no. you have a chat forum among a few people...not a forum about webkinz...whatever that may be.

Webkinz are little stuffed animals that you buy, and you get a "secret code" with them, and go online, to http://www.webkinz.com/, and register with the code. It's a game where you can pretty much play games, and buy furniture for your rooms, feed your pets, etc.

My sister used to play =p

Well it is more targeted at people who go on Webkinz, so they would know what they are.

great. but how about people that don't know what they are? I've never heard of that word until I saw your forum. if I just happened to stumble across that site on accident, I would have left because I had no clear cut explanation as to what a webkinz is. who knows, maybe I am someone who is in to those types of things. then I would stay. poof, new member.
