What is an avatar?

What is a custom "avartar"?!!

Some site have little icons that users can choose below their name. Why these are called avatars I am not sure, but gained the knowledge the other day and thought I would pass it along.

You're able to choose your own custom avatar, so it's up to you to decide what avatar you want to use. There are some available on these forums, run a search.
