Bots!

My board seems to be contracting Bots regularly. And it seems that these bots come from other forums (which all seem to be vBulletin)

They post links to other vBulletin member profiles, which are spammed with links. I have email verification turned on, and I also have a Captcha, what am I supposed to do against this?

Take a look at the mods available. Search for "bot*" or "spam" under "all mods" and "titles only"

I would add the nospam mod and add some question targeted on your niche

Try either reCaptcha or Human verification manager, most the times these are way more effective at stopping bots over simple captcha

If you do the timezone mod GMT-12 is the worst ;)

Is that smart though to prevent certain timezones? You could be missing out on members.

You could create a message to kindly explain to them that it is a bot prevention feature, and to choose a different timezone (which can be changed afterwards with no issues). :)
