Ive seen some of your sites, and I think you should check the image paths. Some of the images are not displaying on your sites.

That will be the main width you set on style options I think is set to 900 something. that will change top and footer.

For some reason it didn't show up in IE and only Firefox. Anyways I put in Google Ads to that spot and it works. Thanks.

The problem is it not showing the images.
I have checked the image files, and they are in the right folders.

Firefox: shows a text url link instead of image.
IE: Shows the above error message.

when I turn off vbSEO 3.2.0 it works fine.
Do you know why I am having this problem or any solutions. I never had this problem with vbSEO with other styles.

In the attachment, you see where it says shortcut, how can I push it a little to the right to increase the forums width.

I tried alot in the footer template but all i was able to do is reduce the size of the right column but couldnt get what I wanted which is moving it to the right a bit like said.

I'm getting 2 custom template errors (footer & navbar) plus my site don't look anything like yours.

also in your profile, under your pic, its missing the text part of the link for 'Pics of *username*'

the link is there, but nothing in the word part. Checked the code and it has a vbphrase of [pics_of_x]

apparently vb doesnt recognize that because I put [albums_created_by_x] and it works.

This style needs some serious work to appear correctly. I spent upwards of 20+ hours customizing it, mostly fixing path problems, missing images, missing menus etc.

@TNClubman: Download the 3.7 version and just copy the menu from there. In that version I believe it is in the template for ad placements after header (or before, not sure), while in the new version it needs to be pasted into the footer.

After working on this theme for the past 3 days, its a good base, but you need to add/edit alot of stuff to make it work and look more refined. Its a great base if you want to upgrade to vB 3.8 and you were using Chris's 3.7 Facebook Pro theme...

I've installed this one and not using the 3.7 one. Are there any particular things that I should be mindful of or tips that you have to make it easier on me getting this one up to snuff?

One thing that I'm working on is.....

See Attached Image: The menubar at the top is not looking like I want it to. I've adjusted the image/logo to my own and have increased the size of the image to make the bar a little taller, but the links ("Home", "Your Profile", etc) are not centered vertically which causes the mouseover button to display under the actual menubar. How can I fix that? Also, as you can see, the right side of the menu bar is showing smaller, so which image do I adjust to fix that side?

Im not sure, but Id check within the file you edited the size of the menu bar (not sure which one) there should be table sizes you can edit (just increase them to match the height of the logo. Also to center vertically, you can also add that there too.

Well, looks like I only have to work out those codes for the menu bar at the top and I'll be good to go :up:

I need to figure out how to center the links within the bar so that the mouseover doesn't go over the edge of the image and to make it look better. But, valign="middle" didn't work, so I'm assuming that it's being overridden by some sort of CSS/style setting. Also, the right side of the menu bar is still not the size that I want. Seriously cant figure this out. I want to put a 2nd copy of 'Todays Birthdays' in the right column where I have shown above. But I've copied the code from 'FORUMHOME' that shows todays birthdays and pasted it in the 'FOOTER' in that exact location. The cake image shows, the toggle arrow shows, the light blue table row shows, but NO user names with a birthday show (yes, there is at least a user with a birthday today lol)

Funny part is, the toggle works, I click it in the footer location, and the section in forumhome opens and closes, wtf...lol

Why wont it display the users with a birthday today? Everything else is showing????

TNCclubman, could it be that it's one of those things where it can only be displayed once on the page? Have you tried temporarily removing (backing it up, of course) it from the forum home and then adding it to the footer?

I'm keeping a close watch on this as well as I've wanted to add that part of it to the style to mimic the FB style.

On the FBconnect thread..

One answer was that you will no longer have a database of emails, if they register from facebook. So you will not be able to send out mass emails from your site.
On the plus side, i think if you make an announcement or PM ALL members it will send them a notification on Facebook. (I think, still trying to clear it up)

was thinking the same thing. They're all going to be in the same group, so maybe take some features away from that group and let them know they need to change their email in order to get that feature on your site...

and just the noavatar.gif is working from root/images

the only images that is not shown is the profile noavatar.gif

i have uploaded the theme in my site.com/forum/images/styles

i have got the links that is broken...

the link is there, but nothing in the word part. Checked the code and it has a vbphrase of [pics_of_x]

apparently vb doesnt recognize that put [albums_created_by_x] and it works.

so ive been messing around with this theme... and have most of my issues sorted out except for the top nav menu.

you can see in teh screen shot the height on one side is thinner than the other... i've spent a few hours messing around with it and cant seem to figure it out... any help?

upon further inspection the alignment issue only seems to be on Firefox... looks to display ok in IE

When you have crossed the 1million member base on your site, then you should think on switching to your own design or adjust this one a little bit to make it unique. Most vb sites dont even get to 100k members, do you think facebook with over 90 million ACTIVE members would even care about a site with less than 100k?

You are not wrong by saying they can sue you, but you are wrong if you think they will win the case, read what happened to other big sites according to these copyrights.

I have the 3.7 style installed modified with new colors and left sidebar. I need someone that is familiar with this style and vbulletin 3.8.1 installation. I would say so alot of the demos and addons for it the site is down ebuddy is not really working - registrations no longer get approved - and there has been no word from the creator of this as to the misleading screenshots or how to fix it up.

most of the edits I did were in the footer. Then based on what I wanted to display on peoples profiles... like a 'ADD AS FRIEND' link under their name, or the number of friends they have in the postbit, I just went into the corresponding template page and looked for the phrase I liked somewhere else, copied it, then pasted it where I want it to show up. Just copy/paste moved around stuff. Also the footer is where the sidebar is, so I added lots of image icons and links to easy navigate my site. Even links outside vB... As long as you're comfortable with html, you'll be ok. Play around with it on your test board. When it turns out good, do it on your live board.

Hi, maybe you will fix it like this:
Go to the Admin Control Panel - Styles and Templates - Style Manager - Facebook (All Style Options) and find Image Paths area. On the Miscellaneous Images link, must to match with your FTP folder like this:

images/styles/new_facebook/images/misc

Thanks for the help.. I checked it all and it was just like you said it should be.
The other /misc/ images are showing up..
For example, my logo is showing up (my customized logo instead of FB New or New FB.. or whatever it is).

hello guys, ok i have a simple fix for the problem mentioned on fixing the top blue banner.
So all you do is this:
Use the image attached (pch_spacer.png) and upload it at the folder:

images/styles/new_facebook/images/misc/

so when you upload it you will have this thing:

images/styles/new_facebook/images/misc/pch_spacer.png

so now, open the original vbulletin-style.xml file and edit it , at line 112 change it to:

So then got to the Admin Panel and :
Go to the Admin Control Panel - Styles and Templates - Style Manager - Facebook <Delete this

Then Go to the Admin Control Panel - Styles and Templates - Download / Upload Styles < and upload the new template and there you have it :)


so basically what you do is make the little image to make the width larger! Hope this little "hack" helps you! Here is also an image of how it looks now :)

I want to use the threaded mode, But there was a problem is the width of the posts list like the attached pic...105165
so i want the list widht to be smaller, how can I do that?
I want the "SHOW SIGNATURE" option witch availabel only in "inlinemodd' to be availabel also in threaded mode...
How can i do that?
I want the Avator Style "the ? and border" to be Available in threaded mode, is that possible?REgards and Thanks allot

Try opening the template you want to modify, and look if there is any spacer. I would probably remove it and it will fix the width
