How do I show latest blog posts on front page?

Like the Show Latest Posts and Show Latest Threads mod for 3.7.x, is there a Show Latest Blog Entry type of mod? Or is anyone working on one? I would love to have the blog feature more widely used on my forum, and this would be a good way of getting people to notice "Oh hey, there is a blog!"

there are a number of mods that does this search for titles only and type blog
