I know lots of you have obnoxious users that don't get the message after getting banned. They keep coming back to sign up using different email addresses so they can continue to harass the board.
People have tried banning by ip/email, but this is faulty because some ips are actually proxies and serve hundreds/thousands of other people as well, and email accounts are a dime a dozen.
So how about a hack that'll let a moderator "cookie ban" a user, so that every time this user comes back with whatever ip, whatever email address, the system will still recognize this jerk.
From there it's easy. You can do one of the following:
1) Let him know he can't re-register.
2) Let him go through ALL the trouble of re-registering, then send him a bogus email when in actuality the system never creates his new account.
3) Trick him and tell him the board is down for maintenance.
4) Redirect him to whatever url you want.
