Usernames and sub forums

total NooB here...I have searched...but cannot get a for sure thing..

1. How do i make usernames different font and colors for admins, mods, ect ect..?
2. How do i make a Just a catagory bar and have the sub forums inside?.

1. Go to the usergroup options page for the specific usergroup, and edit the "HTML Markup" option.
2. Could you please explain further?
