I forgot to turn off the forums this morning before uploading the BETA and am now receiving the following message:
"
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /www/htdocs/w0082736/includes/functions.php on line 5883
"
How would I go about fixing this error?
Thanks in advance! :)

I assume your server has PHP 4 installed?
See this thread:

Good luck,

Thanks for that fix, but it looks like all of the functions are buggy because my server doesn't seem to be running PHP v5. Is there a quick PHP 5->4 conversion/reference guide for all the changes in code that happened in the leap to 3.8.0. Beta 3?

PHP 4 has reached End-of-Life and is not longer being supported by its creators. It is seriously recommended to upgrade to PHP 5. If your host refuses to do so - it might be time to look for a new one.

I am definitely all for the upgrade. I was hoping that there would be an unofficial fix incase my friend (who is paying for the current host) has a hard time convincing them to upgrade.

;)
I know it may be hard, but if a host doesn't even want to upgrade PHP, the host probably has many more problems with itself.
