What Does This Hack Do?hr
This is an update of my v3.7.x hack available here, with the added bonus of being able to use this with private messages (vBulletin v3.8.x only) and enabling dialog box locations per usergroup via usergroup permissions (no longer centrally, so allowing extra flexability). This hack is now fully phrased.

With kind permission from Dannyloski (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=148596), I have now fully updated and integrated his Photobucket Image Uploader hack (which was itself, with my permission, based on my Imageshack Image Upload hack for v3.6.x.) into this hack (as of v3.8.004).

This is a hack that adds the ability to upload images/files to the Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD or Photobucket services and be given a url to post in your posts to show your now uploaded file(s), it is available (if enabled):

when creating a new thread
when creating a new post
editing a post
quick replying to a post
creating a new private message (vBulletin v3.8.x only)
quick replying to a private message (vBulletin v3.8.x only)
replying to a private message (vBulletin v3.8.x only)


The Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD & Photobucket dialog box locations are controlled independently via usergroup permissions.

You can control the size and color of both the Imageshack (fully customisable), MEGAUPLOAD (3 sizes and 6 colors) & Photobucket (fully customisable) boxes centrally from the AdminCP.

You do NOT need a premium account to upload using either Imageshack or MEGAUPLOAD.

With MEGAUPLOAD, you can enter your premium account license key (if you have a premium account) in the AdminCP options (see post #57 for more information).

If you allow your members to use Photobucket, your members will need to registered with, and login to Photobucket to be able to upload files to Photobucket.

AdminCP settings for this hack available in vBulletin Options -> Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD & Photobucket Uploader.
Settings that can be changed are:

Imageshack iFrame properties - size of the upload input field. The width, height and color (this setting will work instantly once the Imageshack developers fix this) of the iframe
MEGAUPLOAD Embedded box properties - size and color of the embedded MEGAUPLOAD box. You can also enter your premium account license key if you have one (see post #57 for more information).
Photobucket Embedded box properties - size and color of the embedded Photobucket box.

NOTE 1: If you have highly customised templates or styles and the imageshack/MEGAUPLOAD/Photobucket dialog box does not display after usergroup permissions are set, then you may need to manually add the contents of the imageshack template to the templates where you want the dialog box to appear. If that does not work, you are on your own.

Usergroup permissions for each usergroup are available in Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager.
Settings that can be changed are:

Choose which locations the Imageshack Image Upload box are displayed (as of v3.8.002)
Choose which locations the MEGAUPLOAD Uploader box are displayed (as of v3.8.002)
Choose which locations the Photobuck Uploader box are displayed (as of v3.8.004)

This hack can be used with v3.8.0, v3.7.5, v3.6.12 and later versions. This hack should also work fine with earlier versions of v3.7.x and v3.6.x.

The only way I can see this happening is you mixing up the v3.7.x product file with the v3.8.x bitfield file. As the ms_imageshack_upload_permissions column is not being added to the user table. v3.7.x version of this hack does not include a bitfield file and does not create an extra column in the database.

What I suggest is that you to do the following (exactly):

Delete bitfield_ms_imageshack_upload.xml from your /includes/xml folder.
Uninstall the hack from your Product Manager
Download and unzip ms_imageshack_upload_v3.8.002.zip to an entirely new location
Upload bitfield_ms_imageshack_upload.xml from your /includes/xml folder.
Import ms_imageshack_upload.xml into vB using the AdminCP Product Manager.
In the Admin CP, select vBulletin Options -> Imageshack & MEGAUPLOAD Uploader, and change the size and colour settings for the imageshack and MEGAUPLOAD dialog boxes.
In Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager, change the usergroup permissions for each usergroup individually to enable display locations (disabled by default)

That should fix the problem, if it does not let me know.

This hack is not geared for Premium accounts, as I am not interested in paying for a premium account myself just to develop a version for that, and no one else is willing to allow me access to their premium account to look at adding it (I don't blame them, I don't think I would allow anyone access to it if I paid either). So, even though it is possible, it is very, very unlikely support for premium accounts will ever be added to this hack.

Rapidshare still has no facility to allow an uploads script like imageshack and megaupload to be embedded in a webpage, I have repeatedly said this over the last 2 years in all 3 versions of this hack.

Never heard of imagebam before I read this post, just had a look at it, same thing as rapidshare, it does not have a ready made facility to allow an upload script to be embedded in a webpage, although they have a developer api, you would have to write the embedded script from scratch and register for 2 different api keys, one for the developer and one for users (to be honest, not interested in registering for it), it is not something I am going in looking into at all.

getting excaktly same error after uninstallation.
aparently it leaves something behind, preventing from usergroup creation
so reinstalled to create a user group. and uninstalling again when done.

The upload box embeds, so the hack is working, it is just the upload box is not sending, I do not control this at all, the upload box is hosted on the megaupload site, so you will have to ask there. See the below:

I can not recreate this problem, so I am going to have to look at your installation.

If you want me to take a look then feel free to PM me your site address, a temp admin user (with admin permissions - Can Administer Settings for editing options, Can Administer Styles for editing templates, Can Administer Language Settings for editing phrases, Can Administer User Permissions to edit usergroups and finally Can Administer Plugins for editing products and plugins), and ftp access details, without these I can not help you. I will look when I have time, and even if I have a look, I can not guarantee that I will be able to fix it, so it is up to you what you want to do. You can revoke these after I have helped you out.

It should be alterable, but it is not, as it is an Imageshack bug.

It works fine in Firefox, I use Firefox as my main browser and I develop and test with Firefox and later on test with IE (only to test compatibility).

You have probably got a firefox plugin that is blocking megaupload.com. You will have to track it down yourself as it is a browser related issue and nothing to do with this hack.

The setting has always been there in the AdminCP Options for this hack (Imageshack - Text Color), it has just never worked, and if Imageshack fix it at their end, the setting will work straight away.

That message would indicate that you have a hack installed that uses the template_compile file hook, which this hack does not.

What I would advise you to do is, check all of your plugins to see which of your installed hacks in using that hook, and that will be the hack that is causing of your problems, then you can post in that support thread for that hack. You could also try disabling the hack that is causing this problem, install this hack, then enable it again.

Rapidshare still has no facility to allow an uploads script like imageshack and megaupload to be embedded in a webpage, I have repeatedly said this over the last 2 years in all 3 versions of this hack.

Never heard of imagebam before I read this post, just had a look at it, same thing as rapidshare, it does not have a ready made facility to allow an upload script to be embedded in a webpage, although they have a developer api, you would have to write the embedded script from scratch and register for 2 different api keys, one for the developer and one for users (to be honest, not interested in registering for it), it is not something I am going in looking into at all.

Thats a shame that RS have not done this too. That would have been sweet to been able to give the user the option of either.

You have not followed Step 4 of the instructions, as most of the options are usergroup permissions.

I suspect you have either not followed Step 1 of the instructions, or have followed Step 1, but uploaded the file to the wrong location, as it shows up fine in well over 200 installations of this hack.

If that is not the case after you have checked, let me know.

You can change the upload website if you want to, but you would have to work out how to do it yourself. As you will see if read this thread and and the earlier versions of this hack, a lot of sites that have been requested to not have an iframe or api to enable doing so.

It is possible, but I have not seen anything like that here.

You may want to look at Links and Downloads Manager or DownloadsII, as they some elements that you are asking about, but not all of them.

Unfortunately not as easy as you think. For instance, with Imageshack, they do have a XML API. First thing you have to do is get and api key, to get that key you have to justify why you want the key and they may or may not issue it to you (you need to specify the number of unique visitors to your site per day and include a description of how you intend to use the ImageShack XML API). And that is even before you begin to be able to develop a form to use the API. See http://code.google.com/p/imageshackapi/wiki/ImageshackAPI for more information.

I had a look at your installation and the problem was that you uploaded the .xml files from Steps 1 - 3 to /httpdocs/includes/xml which is the wrong location (in your case), instead of /httpdocs/forums/includes/xml and that is why the Megaupload and Photobucket did not work.

It is now all fixed up. Enjoy :)

Hi.

Using 3.8.4 PL 1

I installed it, but couldn't see permissions in usergroups manager until I realize the bitfields files I uploaded were not being "seen" by vBulletin (I sent then using SCP -- you will face the same if your server use SFTP protocol). All you need to do is apply chmod 644 in the 3 files uploaded to ./includes/xml/

I have an issue with my newly acquired premium account over at megaupload. I purchased it as a nice gesture for my users.

However, When I'm logged in as my premium account (via logging in through my web browser) and then trying to post a file through the mod in the reply form, it never ends up uploading. It gets stuck at 0.0 kb/s. For some reason, when I'm not logged in with my premium account it uploads, but never finishes.

My goal is to get this working and also to find my premium key. I've read the post before and from what i take from it, after you upload a file using your mod, you'll see something in the url which you can then replace in the admincp where the default code is.

Please correct me if I'm wrong and help if possible

I want to know how to remove this mod. Back when I was running 3.8, I installed the uploader at the request of one of my members. Before upgrading to 4.0, I removed all of my mods. Well, this one had a problem. As a result of removing this mod, I cannot modify any of my usergroups; the admincp scripts were modified to include additional table elements that are no longer in my database. So, at this point I have three blank sections within my group manager pages, and updates return a SQL failure.

What scripts were modified? Can someone point me in the right direction to repair my admincp?

UPDATE: The problem appears to be in the "bitfields" entry on the "datastore" table. Each of the usergroup permissions are still referenced; however, the fields are no longer on the "usergroup" table. Now, if I can only figure out how to remove the reference without causing my admincp to puke.

I updated the "bitfields" manually, and admincp auto-rebuilt it. Can someone help me identify what is seeding the "bitfields?"

Oi! I figured it out. The bitfields were seeded by the files in the includes/xml directory. As soon as I removed the following files, everything started working properly again: bitfield_ms_imageshack_upload.xml bitfield_ms_megaupload_upload.xml bitfield_ms_photobucket_upload.xml
Mosh, will you please do us all a favor and update the uninstall script to delete those files?

I am having the exact same issues with this hack only when Imageshack is enabled. They are getting redirected when starting new threads or posts. Please Fix this ASAP as I currently had to disable it..

and installed this one thinking this hack would fix the imageshack redirect issue and it didnt.

Please provide a fix I am running vb 3.8.5

Hack is disabled until coder fix the problem.

OK how is deleting bitfield_ms_photobucket_upload.xml a temporary fix? You can do the same by disabling the photpbucket options in the usergroup permissions?

You can if you have only few usergroups only.
But if you have like me 30, you should spend a lot of time for disabling ;)

FYI the issue appears to be that photobucket has changed something about their login code that is screwing up these hacks. I was not using this hack, but was using the old photobucket-only hack from danny and as of today it is doing the same thing. It is a Photobucket problem, Dannyloski chased up Photobucket support and they gave him instructions on how to fix it - see here.

If the problems persist, you will need to send an email directly to Photobucket Support, as I can not help you with this issue - support@photobucket.com, and provide a detailed description of the problem. Be sure to include details about any steps you have already attempted.

The upload box embeds, so the hack is working, it is just the upload box is not sending, I do not control this at all, the upload box is hosted on the megaupload site, so you will have to ask there. See the below:

I don't know what's wrong with the mod but when I pasted my file box code directly in the template with my premium key the upload works as expected.

Hi, if anybody gets an error about api-s recently, the problem is not with this mod but with Imageshack. There is new code that you can get from here (http://imageshack.us/content.php?page=syndicate). Put it directly is styles and uninstall this mod.
