This requires antialiasis' Personal Notepad for 3.7 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=181811) in order to run and at minimum 3.7.

Personal Notepad is just that - a personal notepad.

This add-on extends the functionality of that to make it public-viewable as a few sites have (such as custom-made bulletin boards).

Now if you want, you can use this as a public notepad for whatever you want your users to see.

maybe call it public notepad as it is not really personal if you are sharing it to everyone right?

Nice Idea. But it is not personal.
There should be an Option to Write the message for the Tab Notpad...

Like this,.

Public?
I don't think many people would want others to know what they've written in their notepad.
Like NAIZA suggested, you should implement an option to allow users to choose if they want the content of the notepad to be public or private. With the option set to "Private" by default.
If it was up to me, i'd keep mine private.

Blanket gripe response:

Read the title: Personal Notepad Add-on Public Display of Notepad in a Tab
I did not write the personal notepad - I simply made an add-on to make it public.

If you don't want your members seeing your private things, then by common sense, don't use this - which is why I wrote public display.

Also, I cannot just call it Public Notepad as there is no public notepad here - this is simply an add-on for an existing modification elsewhere - which coincidentally is listed on the FIRST line of this add-on.

@codershark - what kind of issue are you having? This only displays, by default if someone has something written in their personal notepad, otherwise, it is set to not display.

If it was up to me, i'd keep mine private. With 3.8 coming up soon, there will be privacy settings to allow disallow profiles - I am going to work on something based off of that. I will take this into consideration before then if I have time.

3.8 Profile Privacy

* With the appropriate permission, users can now configure which parts of their profile is visible, and to who. The configurable components are:
o Profile Picture
o Visitor Messages
o Contact Info
o Albums
o About Me
o Friends
o Recent Visitors
o Group Memberships
o Custom Field Blocks where the admin has allowed it
* The components can be configured to be visible to:
o Everyone
o Registered Members
o Contacts
o Friends

* Generally information is only hidden/displayed within the user profile page with the exception of Albums which also affects the ability to view the albums.
* Also, custom field blocks can be configured by the admin as to whether they will be included in users' privacy settings.
