Hi.
I have just recently moved my whole forum to my dedicated server.
As with my hosted server, it was causing a lot of lagg for the other sites i host it on.

Ok now, i moved all the forum files to my new server, and i even made a copy of the database, and uploaded it to my new server database.
But it doesnt seem to be working, i have uploaded everything, and used the database from the backup.

and it doesnt work, i tried going into includes/config.php
to change the configuration of the forum and re-enter the db info
And it will not let me edit the files, and all the info are not there anymore.

I can post the error message if needed.

If anyone could please help me asap it would be great

Thanks

Ok right, when i want to open my includes/config.php file to edit the values, the file says

<?php /*================================================= =====================*¥ || ################################################## ################## || || # vBulletin 3.7.0|| # ---------------------------------------------------------------- # || || # All PHP code in this file is ゥ2000-2008 Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. # || || # This file may not be redistributed in whole or significant part. # || || # ---------------- VBULLETIN IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE ---------------- # || || # http://www.vbulletin.com | http://www.vbulletin.com/license.html # || || ################################################## ################## || ¥*=============================================== =======================*/ /*-------------------------------------------------------*¥ | ****** NOTE REGARDING THE VARIABLES IN THIS FILE ****** | +---------------------------------------------------------+ | If you get any errors while attempting to connect to | | MySQL, you will need to email your webhost because we | | cannot tell you the correct values for the variables | | in this file.

remove your license number from the post.

how are you editing the file?

did you add the new user name & password to the db via your host manager db script, like phpmyadmin?

Oh, Licence numbe removed
And umm, thats what i get when i edit my config.php file from filezilla.
I was just wondering..
Couldnt i just download vBulletin and upload the default config.php file from there then fill it out.
Will that work?

Yes.
Did you transfer the files in ascii mode, i would make sure to reupload all the default php files using ascii mode.
