Good morning everyone!

*** Second premium shops fix provided ***

*** New cafepress template fix for product detail page and jCarousel ***

*** Premium shops fix provided ***

*** Product details page is now fully functional AND enhanced ***

IMPORTANT: If you have a premium shop and the v2.0.8 add-on is working without problems, please backup your installation before upgrading to v2.5.

Post more info about your forum - when encountering an issue.

This version has been updated for basic/free shops which stopped working since Jul 2008. It should work for both basic/free shops as well as premium shops with the default template.

===

This is a reworked version of the abandoned Cafe Press mod done by Creed and Dylanblitz:

[url]https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=182424

The original text for the mod follows:

This add-on will allow you to add all the items from any of your Cafe Press store or multiples if you so choose. If you have multiple stores that you intend to use with this mod, make sure you separate each store name with a comma.

This add-on works with Cafe Press basic/free store, as well as with premium stores.

Three files to upload.
One (optional) Template Edit.

Install/update instructions for v2.5

Step 1. Overwite the shop.php file with the one from the archive
Step 2. Enjoy!

Install/update instructions for v2.3

Step 1. Install Cafe Press v2.0.3 or higher [if you don't have it already installed]
Step 2. Replace shop.php with the one from v2.3
Step 3. Copy the contents of the /clientscript/ folder from the /upload folder into your forums' root [clientscript] directory, overwriting the existing files.
Step 4. Enjoy!

[the basic/free shop should be working now - and see the [Notes] section below for limitations/more information]

NOTES:

- if you have at least v2.0.3 installed then the only change needed is to replace the shop.php file and the cafe_press folder. You do not need to reimport the product.

- this new release fixes the issue with new templates on cafepress.com for the basic/free stores.

Known issues:

- version 2.5 only contains the files shop.php and /clientscript/cafe_press folder. It is NOT a full product install and requires you to have cafepress mod v2.0.3 or higher installed already.

- no other issues so far ; )

Let me know if you have any questions or encounter any problems with it.. thanks!

Cheers,
aproape

P.S All thanks go to V for contributing to this ;-)

P.P.S. Thanks to ArnyVee for the screenshot. :-)

That mod stopped working for everyone with a 'basic' store setup. As you can see from the multiple posts about that towards the end of that mod's thread.

There's also this comment at the very top of that mod:

At this time this mod is not functioning correctly. Cafepress has redone their free site template and it will take a rewrite of this mod to get it to work again. Not extremely difficult, just time consuming. Unfortunately, 2 jobs, a sick kid and commercial work leaves free time few and far between nowadays. I will try and work on it when I can. If any other coder out there is interested they are free to take what I have and run with it, just like Creed posted on his original code.

Was your site / add-on working prior to upgrading to v2.1? If yes, please revert back to v2.0.8.

This upgrade [v2.1] was meant ONLY for basic/free shops which stopped working since ~ Jul 2008.

Maybe you and Dylan should rename your respective threads CafePress Basic Shops Integration and CafePress Premium Shops Integration, as that seems to be a more accurate differentiation of the two mods then 2.0 and 2.1.

Hi there Digital Jedi,

No worries - we can make it work with Premium shops as well - :-)

[just finishing the product detail page at the moment.. and then premium is next]

===

I think it's best to go that route and eliminate any confusion between versions..

Plus - for premium shops - there are several templates which can be looked at... and it shouldn't be to difficult to make it work with most/all of them - as long as we have examples to troubleshoot.

[hence I left v2.1 still in 'beta' ;-)]

Sorry no, I have not tried this particular mod. I am still using the old one with my premium shop and it is still working fine. When its announced here that premium shops are supported I will try it.:) I was under the impression that this mod so far only works with basic shops.

The install instructions say to delete the CSS file in the clientscript folder, but I notice there is no replacement CSS file, which is why Arny's store was displaying vertical. Will you be coming up with a new CSS, and if so, will you keep it bare bones so we don't have to do too much editing of the file if we have a darker style?

I installed this today and found it only supports a single basic store, while the old version (despite its flaws) used to display the merchandise from all the stores listed in the control panel options. :( If you try to add more than one store, the header and footer of the page load, but none of the merchandise.

I don't think it's the modification. CafePress doesn't seem to be allowing comma seperated stores anymore: www.cafepress.com/bkss,cogonline (http://www.cafepress.com/bkss,cogonline).

aproape, on the old mod I used to be able to go in and edit the store ID within the PHP file. That way I could just change the name of the PHP file and references to it and have multiple shops with different names. Is that still possible by editing the reference to the shop ID?

$stores = $vbulletin->options['cafepress store'];

EDIT: I should really just try stuff before posting. Yes, this seems to work. I just replaced the entire $vbulletin variable with my Store ID and it seems to work just fine. Now, is there anything in the file I might be overlooking? I only changed 9 instances of "shop" to "store" and it seems to work, but I'm noticing some color issues which I've assumed are CSS related.

I guess that's CafePress' way of encouraging us to spring for a Premium shop. Maybe I'll go the multiple copies route as Digital Jedi suggested and just make a page to link to them all...

This is not finished yet, but this is the way I'm going. Now, I notice the CSS stops working after I edit the PHP file, but hopefully that will be fixed soon.

I think this is where I made a similar mistake. I read step 3 and deleted the file I just uploaded.

Step 3. Delete the file [foorum_root]/clientscript/cafe_press.css (if the file exists)

If I alter the PHP any, will I need to change anything to make sure it still points to that file? I'm still not getting any formating.

You don't need a full forum backup to try this new version.

If you have v2.0.3 - v2.0.8 working already - just backup [rename?] the shop.php file before trying this one. By installing v2.2 there are no DB or template changes, only the shop.php file gets overwritten [and a new folder created with two additional files].

4.4.9????

Are you considering upgrading to php v5.x anytime soon? [the generation you are using will probably give you more and more headaches with certain modules..]

That being said, the function you have issues with should work. It's been enabled by default in php since v4.2.x.. however - you might have some issues running it or the syntax in your version might differ slightly..

We're looking into it - stay tuned.. meanwhile - let us know if it's easy/possible for you to do a php upgrade.

This update will work for basic shops as before - the only difference is the code is a bit more optimized/cleaned up.. I don't think you will notice any difference for a basic shop though [no new functionality added] [don't even know what else can be added at this point : )]

I was thinking....can you add a 'banner' option at the top of the store? Maybe a 468 x 60 banner option so that we can add our 'store logo' or something? Maybe that's something that we could add. :)

Hi there iogames,

Well - it's just extra time for us to make it a full product - we wanted to fix everything for everyone [basic + free shops] so that it is fully working before packaging it and wrapping everything together..

Most likely that will come sometime soon but it's just not a priority for us : )

We will wait a bit more to see if any other issues show up from other people using it on premium/free shops.

Thanks for the support ; ) Much appreciated.

Is your board/website hosted on a Canadian server or with a Canadian provider? That's the reason [mainly] why the cafepress store displays in CAD.. cafepress.com looks up the IP where the requests come from and tries to match your 'local' currency..

I think this question should be addressed to a designer.. there are no templates in this mod so you have to either:

1. Modify the style for that forum [or somehow adapt it when someone enters the store]

2. Adjust the design elements from the module so that they fit in your narrow 80% style..

Hope this helps.

Unless cafepress.com is offering it on the same page - we can't do much there.. we pull the content/page entirely from cafepress and don't alter it in any way -

The CAD pricing is automatically done by cafepress based on the IP that made the request.. if you can find anything that allows currency selector on their site we can take a look..

[another solution would be for you to set-up a US-based proxy in-between your server and cafepress.. but that's a bit more complicated and prone to errors unless you have full control/know the person/company behind it/etc]

Of course - all the above unless you wants to move your hosting provider with a US ip : )

I'm having two problems:

My footer on the shop.php is messed up as opposed to other pages, but on the product pages, it looks fine.

And when I click a different size of shirt that has an additional cost, the price reverts to the original price without the markup and adds the additional cost to that instead.

I also seem to have odd placement of the View Cart button, but I think that may be due to setup of my template.

Unfortunately, I don't have the credentials to the store yet, so I can't check any settings on the CafePress side. I should have access from the organizer of the store soon.

Saviour

back to top link works in IE, but not FF.

In addition, when using IE, when the shop.php page loads, the products are not displayed correctly. If you visit my shop located at http://www.glitchpc.com/forums/shop.php using both IE and FF...just scroll down the page and you'll see where there are spaces between products.

Seems to me we have some coding issues with this mod as it is not compatible with all of the major browsers.

Is this being worked on? If not, I'm going to have to uninstall this mod and just direct visitors to the CafePress online store.

Thanks for a great mod, though...if you can get the kinks worked out of it. If you do, you should test it with all major browsers, IE, FF, Opera, Safari, etc., etc.

Digital Jedi
12-29-2008, 12:14 AM
It's not just a FireFox issue, my store does the same thing in IE. It's probably some conflicting CSS between forum skins and CafePress, which means it probably has to be worked out on an individual basis.

Saviour
12-29-2008, 12:38 AM
Would be nice if we could get it sorted, though.

I use two skins...the default and one I use from vbskinworks. No matter which style is used, the results are the same as I have posted previously.

Digital Jedi
12-29-2008, 03:10 AM
What I'm suggesting though, is if it's conflict between CafePress' CSS and our skins, then it's likely that each of us will have to sort the problems on a case by case basis.

Saviour
12-29-2008, 03:45 AM
Oh...of course...I understood. I just wanted to make sure all of the skins were producing the same issues.

Digital Jedi
12-29-2008, 07:19 AM
Oh...of course...I understood. I just wanted to make sure all of the skins were producing the same issues.

I went through and edited, really, just removed some things. I think the problem is some areas were being too specific, when your forum is going to have different formatting for such areas. I also added a height element to the product DIV containers, as they seemed to be causing the spacing issue between items. If an item name was longer then the one next to it, the container would stretch a little farther down and push it's way into the row below it. The next row would then just skip the area where an above item was pushing down, and you'd get a "gap" when that happened.

Give this CSS file a try. Replace the cafe_press.css file in your clientscript/cafe_press/free_shop folder.

Saviour
12-29-2008, 11:34 AM
Okay, we seem to have a winner with the new css for the free shop. That's solved the spacing issue with the IE browser.

However, I still have an issue when it comes to the "back to top" link in Firefox. It works in IE, though.

Thanks for the fix DJ...

Digital Jedi
12-29-2008, 03:33 PM
It seems that there's no top anywhere in the page for #top to go to. I think the only reason it's working in IE, if I'm not mistaken, is because the # symbol sends you to the top of the page anyway.

EDIT: I found that when clicking "Keep Shopping" once you add something to your cart, you get an error and nothing happens. I don't remember anyone mentioning this yet, so sorry if someone did. Yes I did, no luck.

My biggest problem is the pricing. When the user clicks on a different size for a shirt, the price looses the markup then adds the up-charge. That and the error when trying to "Keep Shopping" from the CafePress cart are preventing me from making this live.

Thank you

Digital Jedi...

If you're listening, LOL! I've found another problem within this mod. It tends to break W3C's XHTML validation for the following reason:

Line 568, Column 22: document type does not allow element "style" here .

<style type="text/css">

The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).

One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error).

The problem occurs when you go to my shop page, located at http://www.glitchpc.com/forums/shop.php and try to validate through W3C's validation service.

Is there any way we can get this fixed?

Upon looking at the shop.php file I find the following:

echo "<style type=\"text/css\">\n";
echo ".head {font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.5em}\n";
echo "</style>\n";

This seems to be where the culprit lies.

Thanks for looking...

Saviour
01-07-2009, 10:03 AM
Update...

Well, I decided to edit the shop.php file and removed the above "style" code. Re-uploaded the shop.php file to the server and checked for validation.

It passed...Woo-hoo! Apparently...this little fix resulted in no issues with the functionality of this mod. Everything seems to be working fine.

So, Digital Jedi...if anyone is experiencing the same problem with W3C validation, they may want to incorporate this little fix, or the coder may want to revamp the shop.php file to include this...just a thought.

Thanks, again, for looking...

The seems to be indicating that you have a slash somewhere in your item settings. Did you put a backslash anywhere in your ACP settings accidentally?

I mean your Admin CP settings, like when you put in the title or the id of your store. Did you perhaps put in a slash somewhere accidentally in one of these fields?

DJ...

Will this work with 3.8? I had it with 3.7.4...and when I upgraded, the store broke...so I just uninstalled it.

I also have several mods installed, now...and I'm not sure if any of them conflict with this hack...however, any input you have to offer is greatly appreciated. I'd love to have the store embedded again...instead of having to link to the Cafe Press store outside the forum community.

Thanks, in advance...

Working again - Except the replace parcer is not longer working for the Add to Cart button.
They changed it from a HTML call to a class.
I messed with it, but all I did was make it worse.

Okay...an update...

The shop page was not meeting W3C's XHTML compliancy. I fixed that, though by removing the following from the shop.php file:

echo "<style type=\"text/css\">\n";
echo ".head {font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.5em}\n";
echo "</style>\n";

That being said...there's only one issue I have left to fix...

If you visit my shop located here: http://glitchpc.com/forums/shop.php

The store landing page looks great...however, if you click a link to an item, it breaks the page layout (just look at the top body section of the page). Look here: http://glitchpc.com/forums/shop.php?item=Glitch_PC.342512400

Anyway...was wondering if anyone has a solution on how to fix this problem?

Thanks, in advance...

Missing several closing tags, but I figured that out easy enough.

However I havent yet looked into it, but prices are changing when selecting different sizes. Also when selecting color choices, the size dropdown becomes un-usuable.

Fixes for those things?

EDIT

Ok for some reason there is a parseFloat in the code returning 16.99 when ever a different size is selected.

Still havent discovered the reason the size drop down becomes unusuable when selecting a color!

Hopefully these issues will be addressed soon. :)

Well, the mod just adds the store ID to the end of the cafepress.com address. However, if I go to my web browser and type in www.cafepress.com/Barlon I get a page not found. If I do the same with my ID, so I get www.cafepress.com/nkyfba it comes up fine.

Got a few issues.

http://scalemotorcars.com/forum/shop.php

First off I have a premium Cafe Press shop. Im having a few alignment issues.

1st Problem

My footer has taken a vacation all the way to the right side of the forum. I found the fix DJ posted around page 9 and tried it but its for the free shop not premium. No change.

If I revert back to the default footer it comes back fine in Firefox and slightly off center in IE. Cant seem to locate why its doing it with my custom footer.

2nd problem. I use a background image on my forum body allot like vb.org. The Cafe store is at the right width but no background image. Where can I add the bg-image? Is it in shop.php or the CSS. And what CSS file class needs to me modded for the bg image?

Thanks in advance.

Update.

Strange its not using the template from cafe now. In the original release it was. Ive tried both with a template and without. Still looks exactly the same.

Heres the Cafe shop page to compare http://www.cafepress.com/scalemotorcars

Ive been messing with this for hours. If I revert back to the original release things align better on the sub-cats but still off on the main page. I also get a sidebar.

Updated version alignment is totally off and the sidebar vanishes. Doesn't work on either IE or FF.

The alignment has to do with the CSS. It's necessary for you to tweak your own CSS to get the alignment matching your forum.

Do you have any ideal what lines in the css are used for alignment?

Multiple lines, if I remember correctly. I don't quite remember which ones specifically, and I believe it will be different depending on your skin.

Still no luck. Ive changed ever alignment in the css and nothing changes in FF. I'm thinking it might be a misplaced html tag.

The last page that actually displays a products is ok Check here... http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/shop.php?item=scalemotorcars.407114539

But all other catalog pages are wrong with the footer to the right. Do you know what script controls the catalog menu pages and the one that controls the actual product page. Maybe I can figure it out by comparing the two.

Lastly the issue is not as bad in IE only Firefox pushes it to the right. In IE its just off center but I know why. Its because I have the forum Spacer Size set to 25 pixels. If I set it to 0 its fine but then messes up the skin.

Thanks for the help. :up:

The one in the Free Shop
The Premium Shop didnt even have one. (I have a premium accout)
And the one in the cafe_press folder.

Absolutley no change in IE or FF or GC. Looks like its not even reading the CSS file.

Since it's usually locally a problem, I'm afraid you just have to tweak the CSS until you track down the problem, as it's going to be unique to your forum in most cases.

Would love to know if this works on 4.0

Been playing around with it and store part works but have two errors showing on top of page

Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: navbar in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3957

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/forum/shop.php(108) : eval()'d code on line 1

As the first error shows the navbar is not displaying on the shop page.

Anyone got any ideas?

Got rid of the errors by finding in shop.php:

eval('$navbar = "' . fetch_template('navbar') . '";');

Replaced with this:

$navbar = render_navbar_template($navbits);

No more errors showing on top of page.

Now just have a few problems with the premium store, cant change color of an item or view larger.
